So I made the spline mesh and it worked, however, i want the rope to be more smooth, smth like a subdivision in c4d

All you do is make the base mesh that I made and imported into ue4 at the start with more divisions. Depending on what axis you want the subdivisions, you can either add them along the length like I did, or you can use a cylinder instead of a cube. Also defining the edges with a soft edges smoothing group before importing into ue4 helps. Now the blueprint is done, you can easily swap a new mesh in and out anytime

Great tutorial but would be even better if you would show how to change material instance in viewport rather than blueprint
