I show you how to make poppy flowers with resin using wire, clay, and fantasy film dip. This is a dip technique using Fantasy film to create spectacular resin flowers by bending wire and using your imagination. Swarovski crystals add the extra element of sparkle and interest to this one of a kind creation. A must watch for those who love Swarovski crystals, being creative with resin and wire, or simply those who want to learn something new. Thanks for that Dee! This process of making the poppy is so difficult and time consuming, I don't think I would do it again. It took me 3 full days to complete. So with that, the narrative would take too long as well. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I agree with this lady. The story was very nice but most of us are interested in learning wire dipped flowers. We have no clear idea of what you are doing after the wire curling and soldering. Please explain. Thank you.

My only comment as well. I came here to learn how to improve my resin flowers, saw these beautiful ones in my Search and was excited to learn. Being a military wife, having buried our father(in-law) and too many others in Arlington. You learn the history of the poppy, to make paper poppies for Veterans Day, and the beautiful poem “Flanders Field” by heart, and it is read at any Veterans Day ceremony. It never looses its ability to bring tears to my eyes. So while I did love your history lesson. That was not why I came to watch this beautiful flower and tutorial and learn from an obviously very talented artist.

This is an absolutely brilliant technique. I'm always looking for new ideas to use with resin so this video blew my mind!! I'm amazed the resin stayed and didn't fall/drip through the holes. I'm interested to hear how you achieved that..is it the resin you use and did you have to wait before dipping? This kind of resin is especially designed to stretch and for a bubble like film. Epoxy won't work like this. Sorry it took me so long to answer your question. I've been traveling without a computer. Thank you!

Gorgeous! I just recently found out about fantasy film dip and this gives me many ideas! What kind of solder do you use? I must have been buying the wrong type because when I tried to make stained glass I never got consistent melting of the solder and it seemed usually to blob up and not ever melt completely.

Thank you Jessi! The links to the supplies I used are listed in the description below the video. The Fantasy film I used mostly is the pearlescent color. I suggest you purchase at least 2 containers as one is not enough to submerge each petal if you chose to create larger flowers like mine. Hope that helps.

hello Marietta, I just subscribed your channel. May I know what kinda solder and patina you had used and where may I find them?

Thank you very much! The solder was just a regular copper solder used for any copper wire which I bought on Amazon. I didn't use any patina. Patina is a burned on chemical colorant used for staining bronze. All the color you see is air brushed on as you see on the video. I place links for most of my supplies in the description of the video.
