Thank you 😊 the drying time isn't very long, maybe 10 minutes to cool down after using the iron to melt the wax. I wouldn't use a heat gun as that may activate the wax again. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment 😊

A good question! Personally, I have tried a PVA glue which didn't stick very well, Hi-Tack fast tack glue which did seem to hold okay, but I have preferred using double sided tape. Because the surface of the paper is now waxy, some glues may not stick very well. I like to use these pages as a feature page in my journals, or as an overlay on a tag. Hi Sylvia, I use a medium heat. It might also depend on your iron (I used a really cheap one) so maybe start with a low heat and work your way up as needed. So long as the wax melts, you have the right heat 👍🏻 I hope that helps 😊 x

Thank you for your questions 😊 the yellow colour is from the paper I used underneath and that particular napkin had more white areas to show the paper more clearly. So no, it is not the wax that gives it that colour. I haven't had problems with the wax melting in a warm room. I live in the UK, so we rarely get scorching temperatures. But my craft area can get very warm in the summer as I have lots of tall windows, but this hasn't caused me any issues with using this wax and it spoiling my journals x

The wax I am using has no scent at all. It is meant for making wax melts and candles, where a scent would be added in the process. I hope that helps x

Thank you for your comment. I don't use wax paper, I am making wax paper by using wax shavings over music paper and a napkin. I have shown which wax I use in the video 👍🏻 I have added a link for the wax in the description too 😊

I think that Leah might have been referring to, in part, the wax paper that is underneath the sheet of music. I am wondering if you need to use wax paper underneath, or if you could use parchment paper. It seems like the wax from the paper you are using to protect the heat-proof mat might seep up into the music paper while one is coating the top with the wax flakes, thus adding a waxy finish to both sides, but am not sure. In any case, I think that the brown paper with what appears to be a waxy finish is what we in the U.S. refer to as 'butcher paper', although you don't see it often in brown around here--usually white. Our 'wax paper' comes in rolls like foil or cling-wrap, and is translucent white. Thank you so much for posting this video. I've been wanting to learn how to do this since I first saw a it in a FB group several weeks ago. Your presentations are excellent!

Thank you for your reply Cathy. The waxy brown paper I use underneath is just baking paper we have in the UK. I only use it as its non stick so it's easy to get my paper off when I've finished but I get your point about it being waxy on both sides. I actually don't mind that so it may be down to personal preference. I haven't tried parchment paper but that could be an alternative, thanks for the suggestion 😊.
