How to make reaction roles on Discord? In this tutorial, I show you how to setup reaction roles on a Discord server. This means you can add reaction roles to a Discord server so people can select an emoji to get a role on Discord. Making Discord reaction roles is easy and free with the Carl bot. Let me know in the comments below if you have any questions while you make reaction roles on Discord.

Follow the steps below to make reaction roles on Discord:
1. Open a browser and navigate to carl.gg.
2. Login to your Discord account and then select the server where you want to add reaction roles. Give Carl Bot access to the server.
3. Go back to your Discord server and select the arrow next to the server name. In the menu select Server settings.
4. Select Roles, then add your new reaction roles. Select a color for the roles and select Save changes.
5. Now go back to your server and enter any text channel. To begin creating reaction roles type "?reactionrole make" then hit enter.
6. After that enter the name of the text channel where you want to reaction roles to be located.
7. Type the title of the reaction roles include {roles} after the |. For me this was "Reaction Roles | {roles}".
8. Select the link and then choose a color for your reaction roles. Copy the HEX code and paste it in the text channel and hit enter.
9. Now we link emojis to our reaction roles. First select an emoji then hit the space bar and then type the name of the role. Hit enter.
10. Do this for all of your Discord reaction roles and done when finished.

what if the bot say me That does not seem to be an emoji. If you insist that it is, make sure you don't have any other bots deleting messages from either of us. **Type 'done' to save and finish** or 'cancel' to discard everything.

Nice video, appreciate this. I would new members of my discord when clicking a button accepting the rules to receive a new role that can allow them to read channels (Ive done that) however I would like the basic role to be removed. So basically you click a button get a better role and basic role auto removed. Can carl bot do this?

it says the role has the elevated permission and cannot be assigned by the bot for security reasons, try assigning it manually if you have the permissions to assign it what should i do

Late answer, but for you or anyone else that is having this problem: Make sure to select the "Display role members separately from online members" setting for all of your reaction roles.

Then you’re either doing it wrong or it’s a discord glitch, there shouldn’t be any issues with adding roles.
