Love your videos, Steve. Quick question. What embellishments you think are good for shakers? Because i find glitters will cling to the plastic.
@sengasengana
@sengasengana Жыл бұрын
I stopped using all kinds of glitters in shakers altogether, because they always cling to the plastic and the resin. Even sequins tend to stick, so I use them very sparingly. I still have a lot of stuff to put into my shakers though. Glass beads, acrylic beads, bubble beads, micro beads, all kinds of polymer clay canes, embellishments and sprinkles, tiny metal embellishments and much more. And I use shrinking plastic to make special bits to put into my shakers, too. I found o I like quite plain shakers with rather few fillings the best, and I love themed shakers, so I made hedgehogs filled with some apple slices, a tiny earthworm and a few autumn colored leaves, cat's heads with flies, fish bones, (most people don't get those unfortunately 🤣) balls and a bow, a green popsicle with black micro beads, filled with kiwi slices. Etc, I think you get what I mean, and I almost always ad microbeads.

Thank you for sharing your process. I have been taking the plastic to the edge and have had them pop off and yes, a disaster happens. Definitely will try not pouring the rim with the bottle tip. Have you tried the alcohol spritz to pop bubbles? I'm seeing it as an alternative to save the molds
@debrajol3585
@debrajol3585 3 жыл бұрын
Alcohol deteriorates expensive molds quickly & removes their finish. I keep seeing more & more KZfaq artists doing this.. it may be they only use a mold once or twice so they don’t know or simply don’t care because they’re constantly moving onto new ones. For the rest of us taking care of our molds is top priority. Steve is absolutely giving you great suggestions. Long neck lighters work perfectly for zapping bubbles & I found that even the lighters from the dollar stores are refillable! I bought a twin pack for $1 and had the same two lighters for over two years. I spray my molds with release spray before pouring them ..and then after I clean them I spray again for storage.. keeping them separately in a zippee bag till next time. Then I spray right before pouring bc the spray I did for storage has absorbed but that extra spraying keeps them soft & pliable. Happy Arting! 👌💯🌹🌹🤤

Watched another resin doer, use 99% alcohol spray, spritzed over the completed piece and it popped all the bubbles before waiting to set up. Try, you might like it. She didn't use a torch or lighter. Might save your molds.

I am still having problems with my pippettes. I honestly think I'm just dumb, because you never seem to have any problem with them, and I can't believe I have over 100 of these ridiculous things and not one works...it HAS to be me.... but I have no idea what I am doing wrong! *I tried squeezing, then placing it in the resin to soak up the resin (like a turkey baster) *I tried squeezing it IN the resin to suck up whatever it can. *I've tried cutting them shorter *Cutting at an angle *Cutting the dang bulb and just trying to manipulate my pour into it so the base will pour out in a smaller pour (like a funnel) And no matter what I do, I can't suck the resin up and if I have it up it doesn't want to pour out 🤪🥴😫

I love watching your videos. But I feel kinda sad right now... I tried to go watch the video you advertised; about cleaning the pipettes, and I was not allowed to watch it because it is only for your members. ~ I know the members get special content, and that's fair. But it sort of feels like you're rubbing our noses in the ones we can't have, because we're not a member. (It reminds me of when I was a child, and the cousins got a treat because their parents could afford it, and my siblings and I did without AND had to watch them enjoy their treat. I don't think the cousins should have gone without a treat just because we did... but they should have gotten the treat away from us, so that we did not know we were missing out.) I hope that makes sense. - I know non-members don't get all the content; but perhaps don't advertise the ones we can't have access to. Just a thought. ~~ Looking forward to your next video! ~ Love ya!
