How To Make Rolled Paper Flower Heart Shadow box Mothers Day Cricut Project
In this video I share with you how to make a paper flower heart shadow box with a Cricut Maker. Floral shadow boxes make beautiful Mother's Day Cricut projects! I used 35 sheets of purple 65lb cardstock to make rolled paper flowers. I'll show you how to roll paper flowers using your Cricut!
You need a Cricut machine from the Maker or Explore series to complete this project. Either a Cricut Maker 3, Cricut Maker, Cricut Explore Air 2 or Cricut Explore 3. You cannot use a Cricut Joy to make this project because that machine does not make cuts wide enough. I cut my flowers out to be 8" wide in order to make a 2" paper flower. The Cricut Joy only makes cuts 4.5" wide so you would end up with tiny flowers.

I think your quilting tool is ingenious in a pinch. If you had a way to cut a slit in the end of a small dowel, I think having something round to turn would be a game changer. It is beautiful!

Your flowers are beautiful. A quilling tool definitely makes it a little easier. Hot glue also works really well too. Love your project!!!

I had a 9x9 shadow box so I figured I needed to make my flowers smaller than yours. I put a 9x9 piece of 65 lb crd stock over the nice fabric backing and a contrasting color card stock heart on top of that. I made my heart 8.5 x 7.51. I then cut two flowers. I made them 6x5.655. That was mistake. It was very teeny and tight. I'll keep those for something else and make bigger ones. I saw Jennifer Maker bend the edges of the petals down. I like both looks, not sue which I'll use.

I saw that technique too but I figured it would take me forever to bend all the edges so I didn't bother.

Wow, so pretty!! I love that!!! Purple is my favorite color. I have made paper flowers and it is very tedious. I may have to make one for myself. I do have a set of quilling tools, so hopefully it won’t take all day. I need the purple paper, so I will be going to pick that up. Great job!! 💜

Your project turned out amazing. I’ve saw a hack that says to use a Bobby pin to roll flowers. I haven’t tried it yet but just a suggestion.

Love your project! I've been thinking of making a couple for family members. Thanks foe showing all the details. Just curious;- why don't you use the button on the mat screen that says "project copies" and put in 35, instead of duplicating your pattern? Works the same. You feed the mats in one after the other without having to go back to the make it screen.

I didn't think to do that! I just duplicated it 35x within design space. When I was filming I was making my first test flower so I only cut one

I've actually never sold on Etsy so you can definitely make money elsewhere! I sold mostly in Facebook groups
