You need to fill the rectangle. Just add a white Fill Color

my text doesn't have track matte, only the shape

yes until when you double click rectangle tool it will show (without any layer being selected before), at minute 00:50 let me know if still stuck

Right click at the "layer name", under columns > tick the "modes", it should appear.
