Ingredients for Meatballs (makes 22-23 meatballs):
►3 slices white bread crusts removed and diced or torn to pieces
►2/3 cup cold water
►1 lb lean ground beef 7% fat
►1 lb Sweet Ground Italian sausage
►1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese plus more to serve
►4 cloves garlic minced or pressed with a garlic press
►1 tsp sea salt
►1/2 tsp black pepper
►1 large egg
►3/4 cup all-purpose flour to dredge meatballs
►Light olive oil to saute or use vegetable oil
Ingredients for Marinara Sauce:
►1 cup chopped yellow onion 1 medium onion
►4 cloves garlic minced or pressed with a garlic press
►2 - 28-ounce cans crushed tomatoes *see notes
►2 bay leaves
►Salt & pepper to taste
►2 Tbsp basil finely minced, optional

►1 lb spaghetti cooked aldente according to package instructions

Poor man's stew ..... take a bunch of cans of things from the cupboard, throw it all in a pot with tomato sauce and tomato paste and add some meat and cook it slowly all day👍

Hi Natasha, my sister and I made this recipe many times, including yesterday for dinner. We loved it! Our family loved it as well. The sausage in the meatballs definitely adds a lot of flavor to the meatballs. We didn’t have any bread on hand yesterday, so instead we use a 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs. They still came out good! My mum also makes good too but i like meat sauce with marinara She doesn’t usually add meatballs but its good too without the meatballs I do like meatballs spaghetti sometimes she makes me I remember when I was 6 my mom made us garlic bread, salad and spaghetti

I have made this twice and my wife and I loved it. Really easy and so good! My only suggestion for those of us novice cookers, depending on which crushed tomato sauce you get, if you find that it is acidic, add sugar until its lowers the acidity to liking. It took me a good minute to figure out but luckily my mom thought me that a long time ago!

Tried this recipe! Unfortunately didn’t have the Italian sausage but will def have some in stock for next time. Still came out delicious, I also added serano with the onion and garlic for some heat! I’m Mexican haha! Thank you so much for this yummy ness! 👌🏼

Cliff Allen No, spaghetti and meatballs is a dish that fundamentally misunderstands the point of pasta. It’s why spaghetti and meatballs is not really a thing in Italy - they understand that pasta is the main event, and you need to enhance the pasta. Rather than shoving a massive lump of meat on top.
