How To Make Sturdy Self Adhesive Tabs with Laminate and Sticker Paper

If you need sturdy tabs for your planner, notebook or journal, this is a great way to make your own. In this video, I share how to make tabs with sticker paper or self adhesive paper, a laminate pouch and laminator during the print and cut process with a digital cutting machine.
Even if you don't have a digital cutting machine like the Cricut or Silhouette, you can still use the single side laminate method to make sturdy self adhesive tabs.

Love it! I print and cut everything on my silhouette, even clear acetate by itself, and I found that using a colored (blue/green, etc) machine cutting mat gets the registration marks to read on clear materials! I just made my own clear tab dividers with laminated (3mil) acetate where the tab labels were printed on with registration marks, and with the right settings (lots of trial and error), my cameo cut through them pretty well. And so when I cut laminated materials the registration marks are also laminated and they still read perfectly! TFS

I don't have a cutter, yet, but I'll be sure to save this. It can get expensive buying those tabs year after year. And I learned that it's possible to only laminate the front or back of a page! Tfs!

Thanks for sharing your process. I too have problems with print and cut on the Cricut, it never cuts properly. About the side tab, I was saying "Too big, too big...use the small ones."

🤣 I may make another size tab for the side. I pretty much only have problems with the tabs. I cut everything else no problem. I think I know what happened so I'm gonna try again.

I checked online first. The picture is there, but it doesn't have any options to pick the one you want. I want them all, but I was a little hesitant to order them without the options.

Oh...and I really like the bigger side tabs. Makes finding stuff much easier. But I get that they are so much bigger than the top tabs, but I like them anyway.

I think the issue with it being not centered is that your calibration might be off. Try to calibrate the machine before cutting laminating sheets. Love the video

It works fine for everything else. The only issue I have is with the large and small tabs whether laminated or not.

Such a great option. I think the smaller tabs on side would be better. I think the bigger ones will be in the way as you get further in the year.
