Let me preemptively say: What is done publicly can and should be addressed publicly. That is my belief. I do not buy this idea that people can say and do things in public, and only face criticism in private. The actual principle is that what is done privately should not be spoken about publicly; not the other way around.

I have somewhat kinda mixed emotions on this. I had once refuted DawahMan for some of his cringe-worthy antics. Years later, he invited me onto his podcast where he allowed me to essentially undermine some of his overly harsh stances on the Ottomans (check it out: Naseeha Sessiions MXP #28 Who Conquered Constantinople?). So although i have never met him in person, i have found in the few times i spoke to him to be surprisingly open to advice. Even though he did not see my refutation of him before i took it down, he told me i needn't have removed it as he had been wrong! I assured him he would not be happy with it as it was not a good look for him and he came across an idiot. Even so, he assured me he was indifferent to being humiliated as he deserved it at the time. This lack of ego is v rare amongst those in the YT celebrity space. That being said, optics are everything. Having a charity gofund me page ran by the same team behind an alpha male business will naturally raise eyebrows. This is the kind of stuff that is routinely flagged up by the UK charity commission as a conflict of interest. I'm not for one minute suggesting the Badr boys are putting their hands in the kitty, as they say. However, many people unfortunately will and that kind of suspicion is inevitable nowadays - esp. if we were given the impression that the bro was taking a break from dawa to dedicate to study the religion properly. And he may actually be privately doing that now whilst running a business in a way his earlier teaching commitments didn’t allow him to. But its being presented, unfairly lets say, that he's taken the scenic route via a Muslamic redpill hussle. Its maybe too much to expect everyone to contact the Badr bros directly for assurances. More than that though, because they are in the field of dawa, the onus is really upon them to go above and beyond the call of duty to maintain their integrity so as not to bring their dawa into disrepute. The incident of Imam Bukhari throwing his bag of gold coins into the sea rather than risk being accused of theft comes to mind. Don’t think anyone here is asking him to do anything as drastic as that. Though a little additional corporate communication for the sake of PR wouldn’t do any harm. Point is, there's no shame in trying to put the public at ease with whatever degree of transparency should ordinarily allay the concerns of the average reasonable well-wisher…. if not to silence the unjust opposers who will latch onto such things to discredit what otherwise may well be and what we hope indeed are thoroughly noble and entirely compartmentalized business and charitable endeavours. And Allah knows best

If Badrclub members are paying and see value, why should those putting time and effort into teaching men to earn more and connect back to Allah not benefit? Why does anything related to Islam have to be charity? Why should there be a pot of money for them to share when the whole point is to teach men to be men. It is often believed those who teach Islam can't charge but this then deprives their family of essentials they deserve. Why should the family of those giving dawah suffer?

Bro, we are literally talking about using donated funds for the promotion of a profit-making enterprise. So, treat the whole thing like business. Reimburse your donors / investors, as you would do with a business. Simple and fair. Create a fund with the fees you are collecting so that club members have a practical and tangible benefit, and if you want, you can treat this money as a club investment in those new enterprises created by that fund, thus creating ongoing revenue for the club. Why is that offensive?

The GoFundMe is stated to be a fundraising drive for upgraded video production. Upgraded video production is clear in the marketing for the Badr Club. If the 40k was not used for upgraded video production, what was it used for then? He showcases himself and his team living the high life in Dubai, and promises members that he will teach them how to earn a 6 figure income, which is something one would be able to teach only if they actually know how to do that, and therefore already HAVE a 6 figure income. If he has the wealth suggested by this, and by the luxurious life highlighted in his marketing...why exactly is he running a GoFundMe to buy equipment he should pay for himself?

Your whole video skipped verifying this assumption which I don't think is appropriate. Maybe he made some money from his businesses that is enough for a camera for the badr club. He also mentioned he will be building a $100k business as he goes along in the badr club so I think he really did need the gofundme at the time to purchase studio equpment. Again please verify. @@123s645123 OK, well, the GoFundMe was launched on December 30, 2020; so beginning of 2021, with a stated target at that time of 5k. It has now reached 40k, and during the interim he has apparently already recorded a year's worth of videos, and announced his departure from da'awah, all filmed inside a functioning studio while continuing to collect donations for the studio and equipment he has already purchased and is using. Indeed, the GoFundMe is still active. Still active, despite already having what he is asking for donations to purchase; still active despite already building a backlog of content filmed IN THAT STUDIO with that equipment. The obvious conclusion is that the actual costs were covered quite some time ago, but the GoFundMe remains ongoing. If you want to believe that he did not use the equipment he purchased, or the extra money he has collected, to fund the marketing campaign for his profit-making Badr Club, that is up to you.
