CHINESE SHRIMP LO MEIN RECIPE
Lo mein is a Chinese dish with noodles and contains vegetables and various types of seafood or meat, example - chicken, shrimp, pork and beef. It can also be eaten with vegetables only. This is really an easy and very economical and healthy recipe as any left-over veggies and meats in your fridge can be used to make this dish in less than 20 minutes - so enjoy!
To season the shrimp:
Salt - to taste
Black pepper
Fish seasoning
Garlic powder
Onion powder
LO MEIN SAUCE:
1 tsp. Oyster Sauce
1tbsp. Hoisin Sauce
2 tbsp. Soy sauce
1 tsp. Sesame oil
1/2 cup water
1 tsp. corn starch - for thickness
Ingredients/Measurements:
1lb shrimp - double recipe based on amount of shrimp
2 Fresh Egg Noodles or Chow Mein Noodles
1 large size carrot - cut in Julienne style
1/2 bell pepper - various colours
3 ounces snow peas
4 stalks of pak choy
1/2 red onion
choppped spring onions
1/4 cabbage
finely chopped garlic
Fresh ginger
*Stir fry veggies on high heat to prevent sagging
*Cook noodles one minute less than time on package - avoid over-cooking
*Fry shrimp 1.5 minute on each side - do not over-cook
NB: Any left-over meats and vegetables you have in your kitchen can be used.
