fire but a lil tip here, cut out the low frequencies from ur melody with an eq to make the 808 sit better and not make the melody get quieter whenever it hits

melody getting quiter has nothing to do with 808. it usually does if you have a compressor on your master bus that gets triggered by your 808 and makes everything quiter

solution is to mix low volume, and set the attack sustain and release all the way to zero, and bring the gain knob up till it's slightly clipping. this makes the limiter act like a soft clipper almost
