How to make the perfect Omena/ Dagaa /Silver Cyprinid | Creamy Omena| Ayleen's Food hub.

This is one of the ways I make my Omena. Washing it with Hot water and rinsing it severally helps remove the bitter taste that people tend to complain of.
INGREDIENTS:
1 tsp cumin
2 Tomatoes
1 large onion
1 tsp garlic and ginger
corriander
1 tsp Royco or one beef cube

The small fishes is what is being cooked. They are called omena in the local dialect.

For this particular recipe I added milk but usually I switch them up depending if I have coconut milk at that time at home but both taste 👌🏾

What does milk do for the omena?

It gives it a very rich flavour and much better. There is a huge difference in flavour if you taste one with just water and one with milk and also thickens the stew. Same tu Ndegu or Fish milk goes well with them and you actually don't taste the Milk. Hope that explains well. Thanks for watching.
