In this LEGO stop motion tutorial for beginners, I will show you how to make things fly without computer effects. This technique requires some planning, but the end result is pretty cool and very effective. You can use this method to make LEGO fly, jump, fall, or even for making minifigures throw things at each other (as demonstrated in this video). How to make things fly in stop motion... it's really cool and fun to do!
I hope you enjoy this LEGO stop motion tutorial and that I did a good job on showing how to make things fly without computer effects!

Frutz LovesLegos thank you very much!!! I’d like to GET faster with masking lol. There are instances where masking is a better technique to use, but yes you’re right - what I show is a fast way of getting it done.

Thank you very much! I usually try to do everything in camera if possible. Masking is incredibly useful and you can do just about anything with it, but there’s something cool about pulling it off without that. Plus it’s a time saver 😂👍

Another trick we used to use was a sheet of glass or acrylic. You can stick stuff onto it without the black stick, but take care, as the tacky putty marks must be cleaned off each frame. The result is like no other though.
