This video shows how to make Pink Orchid Flower Hawaiian ribbon lei. I was inspired by multiple Instagram postings, and found out that the original design of this lei is from Tracy Harada. She also has a youtube channel that I adore so much / uimauamaullc .
I bought most of these ribbons from her store Uimauamau.com during my vacation in Hawaii. I learned to make this beautiful lei from Tracy’s notes, since due to the pandemic the free lesson is not offered at that time. But I’m grateful and thinking if mine turns out even half as lovely as hers I will be so thrilled! And here you go…. I hope you like my version of Orchid Flower Ribbon Lei.

00:20 This are the materials for this 26”-28” lei. Since we wear this kind of lei hanging beautifully on our chest line, the lei is a little bit shorter. I add extension ribbon at the end to allow adjustment.
8 yards 15mm pink ricrac
10 yards 7/8” forest green satin
11 yards 7/8” pink yellow Weavon
11 yards 7/8” pink sheer
5 yards 7/8” azalea satin
5 yards 1/8” gold ribbon
1 yard 7/8” pink satin ribbon for extension ribbon
