They are good, but they are more work than they are worth. You don’t get to eat very much of it.
@geomeopeoleo1740Ай бұрын
The way my family eats artichoke, is you cut the stem off and you just trim the top of the leaves. Then you boiled the whole thing to hell. Then you dip the leaves and butter. And then you get to eat the heart of the artichoke, which is a little out of its way to eat since you have to get rid of all the tiny hairs. But the actual leaves of artichoke are technically simple and cook. Though you do have to boil it for a good amount of time
@spiderdude209918 күн бұрын
Fun fact: Artichokes are a flower bud and belong to the family of thistles. When they bloom they have a bunch of tiny little purple hairlike flowers that emerge from the center.

I love artichokes almost any way except canned and marinated. Boiled, steamed, stuffed, baked, deep fried, grilled are all good, but stuffed with cheesy breadcrumbs are my favorite dish. I peel the stem and eat that too. I am growing artichokes for the first time ever in my container garden. I’m a novice gardener, so I don’t know how well they’ll do, but so far they’ve grown quite a bit and seem happy in their sunny yet sheltered location. I just enjoy watching things grow.

I’ve never had an artichoke or even seen one, why do you have to scrape the meat off the leaves? Why not eat the whole leaf?
@beep3083Ай бұрын
It's really tough. I think you can eat them technically, but it wouldn't be a very fun experience. The heart and the bottom of the leaves are more tender. :)
@strwberrimilk.kАй бұрын
Only the meat on the leaf tastes good.
@erenkur383223 күн бұрын
It is too fiberous. Out of laziness I do try to eat all the leave, but it is really hard to swallow. However, it has some inner thin young leaves and I do eat them whole

I’ve never had them fresh but (in my opinion) they have a savory-bitter vegtable taste like a way more mild/savory olive/caiper mixed with asparagus. And a lot of it is what sauce its with too which is usually lemon and garlicy which adds a lot too they’re pretty good

Here we eat them raw and there's also a meal that we make of them by opening it up and taking the heart clean it and put the cleaned hearts in a baking pan add homemade red sauce over them then add ground beef cooked with shredded onions in every single one of them then bake until they're read and you can serve they with white rice!
