This was very helpful. Thank you. Just started a job with a company contracted to Amazon. Not sure if it’s new or not, some of the stuff I run into out on my route is just nuts. Lolol. Some of it technology error && some of it is definitely stuff that happens at the warehouse, but having my own organization systems in place && now this is going to help keep me from having to back track or waste time stopping all over the place when I can group stuff!

Think of it as playing pacman do ones ur closest to first. If they are commercial buildings or stores. Do those second from neighborhood houses. Save all apartments for last. Those would hold you up the most. That's how I do it. Most cases it takes up only half the block not including the average 20 to 30 minutes travel time to get to the main delivery area.

When you have 22 totes, it becomes a bit difficult to keep going off the map rather than the itinerary (End up working out of 3-4 totes at once). Also, have to make sure you aren't skipping over any businesses that need their delivery before 5pm or something. I've gotten reamed for doing this, skipping, getting to the business an hour after it closed, only to find out that business had ordered 12 packages. When you get down to your last few totes and you've done all your businesses, then you can play Pac-Man.

Great video. I'm gonna try that today if I need to. Yesterday they had me on both sides of a super busy street at Rush hour. Their routing had me several times having to go on the other side crossing traffic. Instead of staying on one side, getting all those delivered, then going to the other side of the busy street.

Before you start your day and decide to go out of sequence with the stops, check each delivery for its time deadline.

But the packages are separated onto zones too. Won't you have to dig around in your totes for packages? Even if you lay all the packages out, wont you have issues figuring out where to put em all? Oh nvm. Edit: oh nvm. This is for Flex. I'm with a DSP.

Cant go out of order if you got alot of bags thats just gonna slow you down. Work out the bags in order you will be just fine
@Riptide8863 жыл бұрын
This is true, unless get over a certain amount of stops. At that point, all your stops are blanked out until you have delivered 30 stops.

I was following the Amazon map was making me crazy thank you I will try next time I deliver
@alexojeda90483 жыл бұрын
That only works if you have 5 or 6 totes. Try doing that with 20 totes. Half the time I'm working outta 2 totes at the same time 'cause Amazon doesn't know how to route deliveries in the first place. To work outta 3 totes is insane so I don't do it. It's more of a hassle than it's worth.
@samsamson36233 жыл бұрын
So you just follow their routing, when you have 15 to 10 totes and you manage to finish on time ?
@samsamson36233 жыл бұрын
I meant 20 totes?

I look at my route when im lined up with the drivers at the lauch pads since we're waiting for a good 5 - 10 minutes. I tap on each pin, seeing which color tote bags the packages are in and reorganize my vehicle base off that vs goin base off how amazon wants you to put your tote bags.. bc if you put the tote bags in how amazon wants you to you wont be able to jump around your route until your van is almost half empty.

How do you know in what bag is the stop number 6
@brendapena36043 жыл бұрын
But if you go by the map the totes are not gonna be in order. So it is not a waste of time looking for the tote and packages that you selected?

The map definitely works when you dont have any businesses to deliver to first.
@detodoyparatodospodcast Жыл бұрын
It does that because if you need to return packages you will ended up close to the warehouse.

I'm still confuse. Q: For example: When you get to one of the drop-off locations, can you also walk to the other nearby houses along that same stretch of road to drop off the other parcels, if it's required. Instead of using the van continuously throughout the journey.
@manny96939 ай бұрын
Yes, just have the parcels sorted ready to go.

Looking for stops 34 nd 35 back in the vanz in totally different bag, just for that stops, would put you behind. Today I've had stop 7 and near stop 109, so way to much time spending on finding it.

I'm researching and haven't started yet but instead of organizing by package then couldn't u organize by the numbers that are closer together?

What if say stop 4 is in one tote and stop 35 in next to stop 4 but stop 35s package is in a different tote? Won’t you waste time digging around in the tote? You don’t have enough room to empty multiple totes. So what do you do when that happens?
@evinjohnson57933 жыл бұрын
I would label with black marker so I could find right away

i work in germany as amazon courier. How much does a courier make in America?
@zachrorke90462 жыл бұрын
I'm in Maryland, USA...I started today for the first time...I did a 2 hour block in 1 hour 10 minutes for $48 then got another 2 hour block for $36 and it took 2 hours... this one had mostly apartments ...they took longer. Still I had a good time with everything. Pretty easy money. Got to smoke some cigarettes while I drove and had a few conversations with people. I like it:) By the way ... My first two routes only had 10 and 13 deliveries ...bigger boxes... No envelopes.

But you had less than 50 stops. That's very easy. I delivery 70 stops and now Amazon gave me 150 stops . That's hard job . That's much better work as uber taxi driver

doesn't work. Because of the bags. For example the first bag is orange so if you switch it to the closer adress the package is gonna be in defferent bag wich is at the end of van so you're gonna mest up with packages
@djj5322 жыл бұрын
True I tried that method of going on the itinerary and select the nearest stop and the stop be in another tote if the nearest stop you select not on the tote you currently working on don't go to that stop just follow what the app send you next because now you gonna waSte time digging in the other tote

Boycott Amazon by not buying or selling thru them. Quit your prime membership. The horrid ways they treat their people should not be allowed. But we vote against the Co with our dollars going elsewhere.
