I understand that not everyone has extra funds to purchase the things they need, but if your child/children struggle with reading or if you would like to teach your younger children this is one of the cheaper options out there if not the cheapest. It's not just books to read but he wrote out detailed instructions for you, step by step in what to say and do to help your child to read. I can not, in good conscience, send you something for free when the creator is selling it for minimal profits himself. If you honestly can not afford to buy it outright maybe you can message the owner and ask for a discount/payments or something. I hope everything works out for you and if your personal financial situation changes in the future hope you would consider purchasing this program.

@@oskarwinters1873 That's mean to say. I don't know what it is that gives you that impression, whether it's because my review was positive or because I wasn't willing to give it away. Truthfully I felt like the video gave off an infomercial vibe which made me hesitate when I bought it. I am currently working with my third child on this program though, as it went above and beyond my expectations. When this video came up in my newsfeed again and I saw that it still didn't have any real reviews on it, just people leaving comments about the video itself, I decided to leave one. As a homeschooler I've always purchased things based off of KZfaq reviews so I figured I could leave a proper comment on here about the actual program for those who are genuinely interested, as I would have found it helpful. Maybe I should change my wording though if it's coming off as fake, I just wanted people to have a better idea of how they would be using it if they bought it themselves.

Foam letters are awesome at bath time as well. Before my kids were two years old, I used to put foam letters in the bathtub during bath time and they would have so much fun sounding out the letters and the small words I would put together. They turned out to be pretty good readers and straight A students.

Natalie not all children...I learned with 5 years old by "myself" like most of my generation with comics of Monica's gang (Mauricio de Souza). My husband too...When I was at school I learned English and a little of Japanese because my father is japanese. But only now I'm back to study Japanese because of my husband's interest. And Portuguese is one of the most difficult language to learn. Japanese is very easy close to Portuguese and English.

The norm in Brazil is not at 7 years old. I was born and raised there and myself and all the kids that studied with me learned to read at age 5.

There are some educators that believe children should learn to analyze and comprehend text before learning to read, and there are other educators who believe that children should develop decoding and word recognition skills first. However, a better approach is that learning to read and learning to comprehend should go hand in hand. What is reading? Have you thought about this much? Reading is a process that begins with the processing of individual letters, which combine to form words and their associated sounds (just like what you are reading right now), and then extracting information from the lines of printed text to gather meaning. To help children develop exceptional reading comprehension skills, there are several key aspects that we need to focus on, and we'll discuss them here. Teaching Reading Comprehension Strategies The few key aspects for helping kids develop strong reading comprehension skills are: 1) decoding and word recognition abilities, 2) vocabulary, and 3) active comprehension strategies. Decoding and Word Recognition Decoding and word recognition is the ability to recognize words quickly and correctly, and this ability to decode printed text is the first essential step to developing reading comprehension skills in children (and adults). Those who believe that learning to comprehend should come first are sort of putting the cart before the horse. After all, we can't understand what we can't read. Right? And just being able to decode and recognize words is not enough. One must be very fluent and fast at decoding where it becomes an automatic process that takes little to no effort. Simply because too much of their attention, focus, and brain power goes toward deciphering what it is that they reading, such that little is left to understand and analyze what they've just read. To improve reading comprehension for kids, the first step is to develop FAST and FLUENT decoding skills. The process of recognizing words must consume very little cognitive capacity, freeing up most of a child's mental energy to analyze and understand what it is he or she is reading. Having taught all of my own kids to read before they turned 3 years old, and having worked with thousands of parents with young children through our Children Learning Reading program, I can attest to the fact that a beginning reader requires serious mental effort to decode and sound out words. It is through repeated practice and reading sessions that this process of "sounding out" words becomes internalized and the child eventually becomes a fast and fluent reader. Therefore, the first step to improving a child's reading comprehension skill is to first teach them to decode and become superbly proficient at it. Developing a Rich Vocabulary to Improve Reading Comprehension Another key important factor contributing to powerful reading comprehension skills is vocabulary. It should not surprise you to hear that good comprehenders will have rich vocabularies. That's just the way it is. Having a rich vocabulary is strongly correlated with one's ability to comprehend printed text, and this is why it is critical to start teaching children to read at a young age. Even studies have confirmed this correlation. For example, a study done by Beck et al., had shown that grade 4 children who were taught 104 words over 5 months outperformed children who did not receive the instructions on comprehension tests. [1] When a child learns to read at an early age, they develop a vastly richer vocabulary compared to their peers. The act of reading, and reading often will help the child develop a very rich vocabulary. A study by Hayes and Ahrens (1988) had found that even children's books contained TWICE as many rare words compared to adult conversation between college graduates! The more you read, the richer your vocabulary will be. One key reading comprehension strategies for children is to help them develop a rich vocabulary. Again, this is done through learning to read early, and developing a habit of daily reading. Active Comprehension Strategies What are active comprehension strategies for reading? Do you know what makes someone a good reader? A good reader is very "active" in their reading - they know what they are reading and why they are reading it; they have an active overview of the text they are reading; they have expectations of what to gain from their reading; they read selectively based on their overview and knowledge; they associate what they read to their existing knowledge; and they are able to extract meanings from unfamiliar words based on the context of what they are reading. Using active reading comprehension strategies will help kids improve their reading comprehension skills, and these can include: Engage your child in active discussion about what they are reading - ask questions of what, when, where, why, and how. Summarize what you've just read. This again leads back to the active discussion part - ask your child to summarize what it is they've just read. Get in to details - discuss the characters, the plot, the problems encountered, and the solutions to the problems.

In the description it states from 2-10 years. So yes, to 9 year old, but even if time has pasted, I would still try using this program, because the person may be older, but at the reading level they will be beginners. My daughter was reading 13 months because we never sat down, we had laminated letters and words blutac to the floor and all over the walls, which helped her walking, wed play games for her to find the word parrot, she’d find the word and then her parrot sock puppet would tickle her or dog or hippopotamus etc... she never wanted to stop playing but we cut it to twenty minutes. It helped with her sleep because she was exhausted from all the dancing crawling, walking bouncing and of course the amount of tickle rewards. She never had any candy until five when she started school so no bribery other than rewards of fun interaction.

Lovely video content! Apologies for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you considered - Millawdon Future Ticket Trick (google it)? It is a good one of a kind product for teaching children to read minus the headache. Ive heard some incredible things about it and my BF at very last got cool success with it.

7positive17 is he reading now? I don’t know how this system works but I thought my son at an early age beginning at 2 yrs. All I did is point at the words and phonetically sound it out for him - he just followed along and tried. By the time he was 3 he was already reading by himself and people were amazed. - now ask him to do simple math , damn , now that’s a hard one - I’m trying to figure that one out.
