My family has some pretty nice rules. When I was young I used to show my parents my Minecraft worlds, drawings, etc. My parents know I’m creative in the mind, and refuse to mess with anything of mine. Anyway, onto the rules. I’m still a kid in school, a freshman to be exact. Basically, my parents will allow D’s and above, all they want is for us to do our best, even if our best is in fact a D. If I have one F, I don’t have my stuff for the week so I can focus on schoolwork, but I can have my stuff on the weekend. If I have 2 F’s, then half of my grade card is failing, and I don’t have my consoles and my laptop. I’m only left with my phone, which is fine. I can sometimes even make up for an F by having an A in another class.

I’ll set a POV for boomers, POV: you’ve spent a 7 months on shed, you’re so proud that you showed everyone you know, you chopped down the trees, carved the art, and you’re finally almost done. Now, since you’ve been working on it a lot, you’ve been sleeping more. You’ve been trying to go to bed earlier, but you just love carving animals in the walls. Your mom’s been telling you to wake up earlier, lately, and one morning You go to work on it some more, and you see your father destroying it with an axe.. you're so disappointed.. you can’t hardly eat... you just think about 7 months of your life down the drain... it would’ve been an amazing hangout for everyone.. but now..it’s gone..

Kids, there's nothing more cool than playing a competitive game; but if you don't get angry after you lose, that's no good. The phrase "It's just a game" is such a weak mindset, when you stop getting angry after losing; you've lost twice. There's always something to learn and there's always room for improvement. So, never settle after losing a video game.

the mom should have looked at this and realised that her child is DEDICATED at creating what he is trying to create. Every small piece of design in his creation should have been taken into account and appreciated so that way the parent may then, when the time is right, transition the child into adulthood via recognizing their talents early on. This kid could easily become an engineer, a construction worker, graphic designer, etc. All of this was ignored because parents don't seem to know how to recognize potential in their children and don't understand how to invest and build their children up.

This is surprisingly common. Most kids will end up depressed and annoyed at parents and then the whole thing is treated like a rebellious phase. Imagine having a coding project that you're doing for yourself that you really enjoy and then, after a year of hard work, your parent decided to delete the project file and take away computer rights. Similar story happened to someone i knew. 9 year old kid did the best mods for battlefront 2 i ever played. I mean really amazing like new plantes, units, weapons, jedis etc. I was his play-tester. He was forced to always wake up at 9am. Once, he overslept 5 minutes. His mother destroyed all of the mods he created. 2 TB. I will never forget it. The look on his face and the abyss in his eyes...

When I was like 8, I made Jurassic park in Minecraft. I worked for a year on it too, and I loved it so much, as I built it with no mods and built everything myself, from the enclosures to the Dinosaurs, to the visitor’s centre. Someone managed to get into my world and then decided to destroy it all when I wasn’t online. He took the spikes and tail off my Stegosaurus, he removed the walls in the Mosasaurus enclosure, which is an aquatic animal, so it flooded the park, and my T-Rex, While not amazing, it’s still my favourite thing I’ve built in Minecraft, He utterly ruined, leaving only three blocks as a reminder of what was. I cried. Thank god I have supportive and understanding parents, unlike these chucklef*cks, who would say “It’s just a game”. They knew how much I loved that world. Don’t worry, I rebuilt it, and my big sister even helped out. I feel sorry for these kids though, who have nobody to fall back on. Here’s a quick life lesson: If you are absolutely devastated about something, remember that somewhere, someone will understand, even if you don’t think there is. They might not be who you think, and remember. No feeling is final

Typically if a child is having poor grades. It's not the videogame that's the issue. It's mainly the teachers fault for not explaining the concepts of the class module correctly. Had a student who was bright, but was doing poorly. Was brought in to tutor him. Found out that his teacher failed to explain certain key concepts. I told his parents this and they started to realize that his poor grades were due to poor teaching. He thanked me after a month that he got his gaming privlages back. The first week and was doing better in class overall when his mom started going over concepts during homework. Parents have to be active in their children's education. They should help them with their work early on. Then slowly move away, and have them work indipendently. Yet always making sure they get the correct support and understanding of their classes.

What am I supposed to do all day? Not to mention sleeping in a little extra helps just a LITTLE bit on days I'mfeeling more depressed" and her response is just "Clean the car and the house. You're depressed because you're lazy and don't have any religion in you" No I'm depressed because of how many times you've broken my trust, blackmailed me, almost ruined my friendships, control who I'm friends with and beat me for the stupidest things The worst thing is parents like this refuse to see where they're wrong.
