I have big prominent round eyes, rather generous lid space. Every single tutorial I have found for my eye shape is basically what you did on the left, because it is 'correcting' the eye shape. I did feel insecure about my 'bulging' eyes but I know they are my most striking feature. I love doing both. I like embracing how big they are and going bigger too. I love shimmer and bright colors, even if its a 'no-no' for my eye shape. Why? Why NOT? Makeup should be fun! I also love how sultry and defined a smokey eye or dark colors can be. For an eye shape with 'lots of real estate', I find the lack of looks that aren't corrective or smokey eyes for my eyes pretty disappointing. That's why I appreciate how creative you are with your looks 💕

i think whats interesting is for my hooded eyes particularly. The one that makes your eyes look "smaller" is what makes mine bigger. Same with most eastern eyes. Doing the makeup that makes eyes look "bigger" actually just makes us very very very puffy

You make makeup even more interesting and the way you teach.. it’s just… refreshing. I come on KZfaq to learn and grow as an artist, not to feel the need to buy another eyeshadow palette or more makeup on top of the boxes and boxes of stuff I already own lol. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you, and sharing your gift, your artistic abilities with the world, without showing 100 new products. I actually don't think, by the end, the left looks smaller and the right looks bigger. I think the left looks deeper and the right looks kind of flatter, puffier, and more protruding. I understand the idea behind the contouring and why people say that using lighter makeup makes the eye appear more prominent, but almost every red carpet look uses darker and more exaggerated colors and looks really beautiful. I think the issue is that we tend to look for the eye as a darker, more defined area of the face ringed, typically, by dark lashes, so using some dark color can actually make the eyes look larger as it extends the area that the brain reads as the "edge" of the eye.

I agree with you actually. The eye on the right looks smaller because the iris looks smaller since the sclera has been enlarged with the light pencil. Big irises is what people want because it makes your eyes looks deeper and youthful. No need to go black all the way but the left eye is a good example on how to make your eyes look more youthful (bigger iris in comparison to the sclera) and thus bigger.
