All my cats like tummy pets. They show they trust you allowing to touch their bellies. Maybe your kitten is too young and you have not enough bond with each other

GOOD advice. I would add: take your new kitten to the vet for a checkup. Make sure they get the required shots. Also determine beforehand if your cat will be an indoor or outdoor cat. Our cats are indoor because it is safer where we live. We play with them frequently so they get exercise.

This! Get them a scratch pole. Only trim the nails if the cat can't take care of them and they hinder them in daily life. Most cats don't need nail trimming. Also, don't adopt cats that are super young, they need their mother in the first few weeks.

I also think it's important that you get at lesst 2 kittens. Contrary to popular belief, cats get very lonely and are happier when they have one of their own kind to play with. This is especially important if you're away from the house furing the day. And never hit a kitten.

This is kinda wrong as they shouldn't be taken from mum until at least 3 months old. Mine was runt n has special needs. Took her 3yrs to purr and 4 to sit by me on chair. She continues to push her limits and I'm so proud of her.
