I tended to buy mine from model railway shops. After about 5 years I am just beginning to run out.

Flocking and base texture is something I always want to do/think I'd be able to do but never try. There's a New Year's resolution shaping up there...

It is very easy to do. I would advise you get some Woodland scenics fine turf with a dark soil, light soil, earth blend and grass blend. Put them into a container that has a lid and give it a good shake to mix the material up. I would advocate that you pick a few sizes of grit for rocks and put them on first and then add the blend.

Base ready mixtures make getting good results quick and easy, I loved how basing could improve the look of a miniature but didnt enjoy doing it :D
