I met Matt in January 2008 at a PS seminar in Cincinnati - my very first foray into the world of PS. And as a result of this seminar, I have become an admitted Photoshop-aholic. Thank you Matt for that eye-opening seminar; for everything you've taught us and for everything you will continue to educate us on in the world on LR and PS.

I love the fact that you suggest doing this as a brush. I used another tutorial that suggested creating it in Illustrator, but for some reason I was still finding edges that weren't smooth even when scaling it down. This produces beautiful results! Thank you.

That’s one of the best tutorials I’ve come across..... most are usually a huge ego trip for the over excited presenter, but here Matt has given a highly informative solution to a useful topic..... I’ve saved this.... unlike most tutorials which I consign to the rubbish bin! 👍👍👍

Thanks for the quick and informative tutorial! One tip that might be helpful to someone is that Photoshop will not allow you to convert text to shape if it has a Faux Bold style for some reason. If the font you select has that style, it is turned on by default in the Character Palette. Reset the characters to "Standard Ligatures" and you are good to go for the conversion.

Great tutorial! I have a few problems though... whenever I make a logo and then try to apply it to a photo with the brush created it's not sharp like yours but a bit blurry. Any ideas why?
