I have never tryed out for a dance team before and I am very nervous. I mostly just dance in my room to random videos I find on KZfaq. This will be my first time trying out and dancing in front of others. Even though I am nervous this video did help calm my nerves a bit thank you

@@certifiedhoodclassic1067 sadly, I didn't make the cut because I couldn't do an aerial which is required. However, I believe I did good and whould have made it if it wasn't for that small thing.

Great tips ! I’d say if anyone is thinking about trying out it’s best to try to get into shape & watching videos on you tube . I know it’s easer said then done . Prior dancing is a plus .By getting into shape gives you a edge . Never be afraid to ask questions. She gives good advice . Me I’ve thought about doing it . The good thing is it teaches a good work ethic & sportsman ship . Plus you can make new friends.don’t be afraid to learn ! Just be motivated. That’s what coaches like to see .

I'm on a middle school drill team, and I did make the team. HOWEVER, i'm sitting here uncontrollably crying (bc i didn't make dance captain) i really need some tips to learn how to be a leader without having the title. (i'm a bit frustrated since there's 8 captains, and 8 people in the front) i just have lost a huge amount of confidence and I really need some help.

I mean think of it this way you should be happy you made the team at all, and if you wanna make captain then you have to practice you can't just cry about it, cause that's gonna get you no where, and if you wanna be a leader you have to show them you can lead and that you deserve that responsibility of the captain position.

I have dance tryouts on the 25th and my friend is going too but they never mentioned things you "need" but my schools team is more on the hip hop end so I will update i guess.

@@haileypiot9771 so i just finished try outs and i didn’t make it :( but honestly i knew hiphop wasn’t my strong suit but the coach was quite rude, and said most girls take classes outside of school and me and this girl i knew who was next to me have been dancing since we were elementary school. I don’t know if I will try again next year cause it just seemed poorly laid out and done. I think that people on the team for the fall season def had a the advantage and it seemed they all got on.

@@evawertz201 awe nooooo:(( well at least the coach is rude so you know ur not missing anything special. You should be really proud that u tried out!!! Bet u did an amazing job, the coach is just too busy worrying abt the girls already on the team

I’m really nervous because i have tryouts on tuesday through thursday and I’ve done ballet and jazz classes when i was younger but thats really all the experience i have. wish me luck im nervouss

I’m trying out this year for it and I’m so so so scared but I really want to do something in high school. My school is kinda on the smaller side so most people end up going for cheer freshman year and then the ones who don’t make it usually try out for the dance team sophomore year. I did dance from when I was 4 to 10 and I also did youth cheer in all of elementary but in middle school we don’t have a dance team. Sorry I just rambled on lol but I’ll update you around march 30th!

I have tryouts on March 25-28th, and I’m so nervous! I’m a self taught dancer, and many people have been dancing for longer, but I think I can do it. I finally have my double pirouette, and I did my triple on accident. The only thing I’m missing is my side leaps. And I know my seconds aren’t that great, but I’m working on that tirelessly. I can update ya’ll whenever tryouts are. :)

@@chiosanchez8334 at least you tried !! My tryouts our next week and I have no experience but what counts is that you still tried! Don’t stop dancing if it makes you happy ! There’s more things you can do for dancing outside of school ! Don’t let people tell you other wise !

Don't be!! Just try your best and don't be afraid to learn!! The coaches/teachers love seeing students who aren't afraid to learn. If you don't know how to do something, ask! Even if everyone else knows how to do it! Trust me, they love when students are willing to learn. You got this!! If you don't start now, you will never know how much fun you will have and how good you will be!! I hope everything goes well! :)

@@sydneelaniear2680 Let me know how it goes!! I remember some of my dance friends never danced before tryouts either and they made it! You just need to show the coaches that you are willing to learn and don't be afraid to ask questions! If you don't know how to do something, they can show you and they love when people are willing to learn!
