YOU GUYS PHIL IS THE REAL DEAL!!! I've been following his youtube videos and they've helped me but he recently sent an email to me about his singing program "Path to Vocal Mastery" and it's a monthly premium subscription but it's inexpensive and we'll worth it. I mean all these other vocal coaches are so vague in their exercises but Phil provides you with video and audio (mp3) vocal workouts and I have to say that I've only been doing his singing program for about a week now and already my voice (MY CHEST VOICE) HAS INCREASED FROM D2-F4 AND NOW MY CHEST VOICE RANGE IS A D2-D5!!!! I couldn't believe it because it felt so natural after the workout and I was singing songs that I feared I would never be able to sing. I always thought I was a baritone/ bass but now I'm a 1st tenor/ alto!!!! THIS GUY'S THE REAL DEAL AND YALL SHOULD GET ON HIS PROGRAM IT'S AMAZING!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH PHIL YOU GAVE ME CONFIDENCE AND THE STRENGTH TO SING!!!!

This video deserves more exposure. From my experience, many people fear of getting loud fearing that they will crack or choke up, or that they do not 'sound nice'. More people need to realise that you do not get a strong, resonant sound to sing heavier or louder genres by using your falsetto hoping that it will turn to a big sound someday! :)

Your lessons have so much more clarity than any other instructor i've ever worked with. The purpose of an instructor is to speed up the learning process and it feels like 99% of courses are to vague to see any noticeable progress. Who did you learn from?

Hey Phil! I just wanted to say that i did your course and i'm really glad about the results! I was straining at D#4, but now i can go up to G#4 in chest voice and um to F#5 in head voice! Thank you very much! But, afterall, i've come to appreciate more my voice the way it is, i'm a very deep baritone, and yeah my best notes are the lower ones, but be capable of hitting the higher ones makes me feel more confident. So thank you! Also, any tips for the low notes? I can get down to E2 but i feel i could go lower. God bless you!

What I enjoy about you, Phil, is how you challenge the best-loved tenets of some of the best-known vocal coaches out there -- your dismissal of vocal fry, for instance. Knowing that you struggled with these kinds of things and had the guts to drop them is heartening. (Just as an aside, I know you like your no-frills video backdrop, but I like the backdrop on this video much better than the wonky black curtain held in place with a gaffer's clamp.) One more thing, while I'm at it: why Japan?

In ten seconds you've sounded like Bruce Dickinson, perhaps wasn't your intention but it approves that you know how to do a job. In addition, you don't make some silly grimaces that confuses listener, just like a good friend from class. I don't see you 'hang your nose high', just nice and clear explaination which would've costed a lot before internet. One of the best on tube 🤘👌👍

I'm pleased you found it helpful. What would you say is the number thing you're currently struggling with?

Number one issue would be getting high notes above say an F4 or F#4 to be usable in songs (as opposed to sounding too thin or whiny). I can currently get as high as say an A4 or even Bb4 without flipping into falsetto, but it tends to get thin and whiny the higher it goes, and takes a lot of support for a G#4 or higher. I can't currently hit a B4 (or higher) at all without flipping into falsetto. Also, my falsetto itself only goes as high as, say, a D5 on a good day. My falsetto isn't very reliable. It used to be relatively easy up to an E5 or F5, when warmed up when I was in my 30s, but something happened to it when I hit around the age of 40 to limit it further and make falsetto itself require warming up. I'm not really a big fan of falsetto in general, since I don't think my falsetto ever sounded all that good, but it's not a good thing that falsetto range has been reduced. Currently I would not consider publicly singing any song that goes higher than say F#4, unless I could improve my upper range.

Make a video on "How to get a Raspy Voice"... My voice is doing great till yet as all my resonance chambers have ample of space! But, i want it to be a bit raspier as plain heavy resonating voice is only good for talking manly.... Im just 17 years old yet and my upper half vocal range is still high pitched (childish) whilst lower vocal range is heavy and vibrating....... Is their anything, i can do for developing it in a Raspier way.....????

I have trouble getting nasal resonance without sounding nasal.

i run into a problem that when i want to make a loud sound, at the first note it get stuck in throat and sounds airy, and the result is that the note i make was not as loud as i want (does not have power) and i feel something like air stuck in chest and make my diaphragm muscle tired (or something like that)... How to fix that problem Phil? I'm tired of being stuck!

Great video! Very clear examples. One question I have is when you talk about maintaining a strong sound into the mouth cavity for stronger resonance, you mention support but also mention STRONG TONGUE (minute 15:18) Could you please xplain what do you mean by that? Awesome video as always, Phil. One question, recently I damaged my voice a little so I rested my voice for around 2 weeks, which is a week longer than usual cause it was quite bad. When I started to sing again, however, it didn't feel as powerful as it was before, it feels much weaker and strained. Is this normal after taking a break or does it mean I have to rest for a bit more? Hope to hear from you soon.

I took a rest from it because I went for an event and did a lot of shouting and stuff like that for 2 days straight. Before that, my singing felt rather good. How is that at 2:10 Chest voice? I'm really confused with the terminology. Are you supposed to feel resonance mainly in chest when you sing that? Would a classical singer say that you were singing ih your head voice?

how is it not chest voice? :-) "Are you supposed to feel resonance mainly in chest when you sing that?" no, most of the resonance is in the head and face...but it's the same voice I'm speaking with which is why I call it chest voice. If I was to call it headvoice people would immediately think they have to train falsetto to build this which is wrong. It's not a different "voice". Many would call it mixed voice. Mixed voice is just a chest voice that is functioning properly without strain. So I only really define the voice as chest voice or falsetto, you're either connected or disconnected - though I understand the other terminology well. Phil Moufarrege Thank you sooo for reply my friend Phil! This lesson helped me balance my Chiaro Scuro (bright Dark) tone so much! Sorry if I typed the Italian wrong.. :) ;) Now I simply have to revise all my song repertoire to make decisions on the amount of Dark & Light in all of them~ XD lol. Any who, I have also managed to take 3 notes higher many of my songs. Such a simple and clean explanation gave me a lot! Thank you again~~ Ps--> I have some Videos of me singing in my channel other than Guitar lessons. IF you ever have the time and could listen to some of them and offer advice that would be MOST appreciated!!! :D ;)
