¡Hola! In today's video I teach you how to conjugate Spanish verbs into the most important tenses: the present tense, imperfect tense, preterite tense, and the informal future. Spanish verb tenses are oftentimes one of the hardest and most confusing aspects of learning Spanish. I'll simplify it in this lesson by showing you how to use Spanish verb conjugation tables for quick and easy conjugation.
If you enjoyed this video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe now if you haven't already!

Hey, I'm Nate. I used to not know any Spanish at all, and I had no interest in learning the language. I thought learning Spanish would be boring, a waste of time, and would provide no value to my life. Then I started taking Spanish classes in high school seven years ago and everything changed for me. I struggled with learning the language a lot at first, but thanks to my teachers and my Spanish speaking friends, they helped make the learning process fun. Within a few months, I had gotten to a conversational level, but more important, I had become a more confident person. The real win for me, though, was the friendships I made and strengthened. I discovered that not only did I have higher self esteem, but being out in the real world with people, whether old friends or new ones I met, made me feel more alive and connected with the world around me.

I confess I want to visit Puerto Rico within the next two years to investigate an incident that occured in a countryside area of Trujillo Alto in 1991. There are witnesses who allegedly saw - just after midnight - a large brightly lit object that was hovering over an electricity substation and absorbing electricity from it(!) Some of the witnesses have passed away but others are very miuch alive. I'm glad I came across your channel!

Was lingering around to find some good videos to help me understand the overall structure of Spanish language, and finally found one. I bet this is one of the best Spanish lectures around the globe. None has made me get familiar with this subject, but this one(thumbs up). Thank you so much! Muchas gracias!

I love how direct he is. There’s crazy long videos out there but he condenses it into a reasonable time. Unfortunately, I think it might have to do with race. A white guy teaching Spanish vs. Someone who looks Spanish teaching Spanish, who are most people going to flock to first?

Many years ago I had to take some Spanish in college and absolutely hated it. I can’t believe that I’m now trying to learn it on my own and voluntarily watching a video on verb congregation and tenses. Great work Nate!

Kid, you've got it going on! Without a doubt that was the best introduction to Spanish verb conjugation I've ever seen. Wish like hell that's how I had been taught. I'm 72 and have just started learning Spanish. Why? I don't know any Spanish speakers and only once in every dozen blue moons do I go somewhere that Spanish is the primary language; still, I don't have much else to do, so why not. Might as well be learning something. I've been learning from a teacher on iTalki from a native Mexican, but he does like to talk to me a lot in Spanish. Normally I don't understand much of what he says. And that's okay. I'm fine with reading, writing, and speaking (however badly) the language even if I can't understand a native speaker. That, I think, would come in due course. I've also used DuoLingo and Babbel. I dislike Babbel. Once you get to the A2 level, very little Latin American Spanish is offered, even though they promote themselves as teachers of it. They also pronounce things differently and seem to use different words for the same thing. I'm going to take a look at whatever courses you're offering because I now realize I'd rather learn from someone whose first language is English but who is fluent in Spanish. Oh, and BTW, I'm glad you're not teaching 2nd person plural. The US borders on a Latin American country, not Europe, and those are the guys whose pronunciations and diction I'd rather learn.

I was never taught the term "informal future" before. I usually decide when to use "ir + a + inifinitivo" formula and the regular future tense conjugations by feel. Do you think people use more futuro imperfecto (formal future?) conjugations in more formal settings, or is there any sort of correspondence to how we use "be going to" and "will" ? Once again, great succinct video!
@SpanishwithNate
@SpanishwithNate 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Calvin! Great question. As you had said, the correspondence is "be going to" and "will". I say use the future tenses just as you would in English. It all comes down to your own preference. Saludos!

I don't know why in English Spanish tenses are translated like that (particularly the past tenses), the original name for The preterite is "Pretérito perfecto" then the other one shown is not Imperfect, it's actually "Pretérito imperfecto". Btw preterit is a fancy sinonym for past. Other than this parentheses that I just made great video

Why is “yo caminado” is wrong and “yo caminé” correct I understand some verbs like “hablar” for instance “I speaked” is wrong but I still don’t get why it is a big deal I have looked at all sorts of literature and it still doesn’t satisfy me when they either say “it’s the Spanish language and not English” or “it doesn’t provide the complete idea or context” when it clearly does like the shortest sentence in the world “Jesus Wept.” It conveys the idea of -ed in the -t suffix I am being critical because it is frustrating when I can see that it could be done and simplify the language but no I have to be given unconvincing arguments I am just asking a critical question is that bad.

Does the "sharp" author of this Spanish video lesson for foreigners and "budding" teacher believe that it is really worth simplifying the learning of verbal conjugation in Spanish... to the point of supposedly saving time, knowledge and skimping his Spanish students in learning the final ending of the 2nd person plural of all the verbs corresponding to the personal pronoun "vosotros"!, in addition to hiding its daily use by almost 46 million Spanish speakers who exist only in Spain?
@dannyjorde2677
@dannyjorde2677 Жыл бұрын
Dislike for not teaching the "vosotros" form. Many people are intrested in learning European Spanish, the original language.
