I remember your old method for close range chips/pitches, "up, down and in" which I've used for last few years, stops me getting club going round me on way back. Keep up the great work guys, and great to see the fruits of your labour with Aaron too 👏👏👏

So when i use the backswing length to generate the distance it works fine from the fairway but the rough seems to be a different matter how do you suggest handling the 50 yard pitch from the rough

I’ve gotten much better on these half wedge shots, and my scoring has thanked me for it. Shot 2 under(70) yesterday! I end up with a lot of these, on the short par 4’s, and on the long par 5’s. These shots literally determine my score for the day, if I’m putting well. The rest of my game is pretty solid, but I gotta get more consistent with my distance control on these 40-80 yarders.

The reason his arms are so stiff going through is because if he releases the club with that very strong grip, it's bound to go left. My advice would be to weaken the grip and move the hands down to the bottom of the grip for more control. And, don't tell your pupil ''this is one of the hardest shots in golf'' when it clearly isn't, you're setting him up for a fall.
@richardpeyser8552

thanks now I know why most of my pitches go left. But once in a while, I get a shot that goes 45 degrees to the right. must be doe to face position-- so how do you prevent this. Can you explain the grip and way to control the face?
@meandmygolf.
@meandmygolf. 2 жыл бұрын
If you get a shot that goes 45 degrees tot he right then it will more than likely be hitting the hosel. This can sometimes be a path issue.

I noticed how (without sounding sexist) women tend to be better at these shots. Men, i think, overcomplicate this shot with too much ‘movements’ in the swing. I learnt, from you guys’ to keep it simple here

Its something that is way to common. Body is too tense, probarly he is thinking of body rotation, power and getting the ball to spin. 9 to 9 drill works well, a towel will help and get the grip to point to the ball. Let the club and the swing lenght tell you how far it goes! 9 to 9 with a 56 deg gets me 60meters..
