(I put the same comment on the Sports Videos upload too) The tip about NOT going too much towards panhandle is very important 👌 (panhandle takes away from the role of the index finger)

Aloha Coach Al, a great definitive video. Imitate your forehand and backhand tips at the net and you'll be in business. I like that you have included the accompanying footwork. Many may neglect that important aspect of the technique. Like your badminton learning triangle, you cover the technique and movement. It is up to each player to practice to develop consistency and formulate strategies and then attain mentality. Thanks, appreciate your videos. Take care.

do i need full forehand grip, or turned a little bit like a hammer grip so i can hit it cleaner?
@ALLiaoBadmintonCoaching
@ALLiaoBadmintonCoaching 3 жыл бұрын
I would recommend forehand grip because the angle to contact the shuttle and generate power would be more accurate. Hammer grip if the shot too fast then the shuttle would bounce out right away and then you would be hard to control the direction. Front court skills : Fast instead of power.

Hi Coach.. It is difficult for me to change my racquet holding grip when i move in from the back court to the front? I see that for the shots in the front your grip is a little higher.. What should i do?

@@ALLiaoBadmintonCoaching You are using forhand to hit right? All the shots are going straight. What if I wanted to return to my right side in opponent's court? Its very difficult to do use forehand to do that, right?

Good question. At the front in doubles that I would recommend you focus on more straight than cross, like 70% / 30 %. The reason in this is because straight shot is always faster then cross. I have doubles rotation that I have mentioned this in my future video so you will have more clearly understanding. Also you are the lefty player so in doubles that you and your partner focus on more your forehand side shot, so if the shot pass at the backhand side then do turn to get it, let the other person to get it. In this case shot would be always on you guys forehand side. The tricky thing is need to focus if opponent attack the middle shot. So this is one of simple suggestion. Hopefully it helps in your games. ^^

How do I stop the shuttlecock from being hit out the back if I do this? Also, coaches here, say don't take a big swing like this when you are the front player. But if I don't, there is no power and my opponent can easily get it back, even if they aren't very good. 😶 I didn't realise that your racket has to be above your head all of the time though. 🤔🤔. That must hurt your arm. 😵😏
