In my opinion, the London system is not an opening but a way of not working on openings !! Thanks Mio for giving us ideas on how to punish laziness !

I use very similar system against London, however I use modern opening move order and delay the Nf6 move and bring Nb8 to d7-square. I think this system was recommended by Simon Williams if I remember correctly. 1.d4 g6 2.Bf4 Bg7 3.e3 d6 4.Nf3 Nd7 5.c3 e5 6.Bg3 When it comes to this game the moves c3 and Bg3 (instead of h3 followed by Bh2) seemed wrong to me. Normally aggressive London players play c4 directly and make room for the bishop by playing h3 Ps. This position also reminds a transposition from the English opening where Black plays systems with ...e5+f5+Nf6+ (Fianchettos the bishop with g6+Bg7)... (Kinda reverse GPA attack) Pps. 6:00 Bh6 looked very ugly and hard to make so kinda interesting concrete idea to keep in mind.

Yeah, but if you play 1.d4 g6 2.e4 you gotta be ready for modern, do we all want to play modern vs 1.e4? No!

Hi Mio thanks so much I have been using this Nfd7 e5 followed by f5 system but often times my light squares around my king get very weak and I have problems because of tactics like Bc4+ and Ng5 where they want to go Nf7.
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial
@MiodragPerunovicOfficial Жыл бұрын
Well, you have to first build up your position and then to attack, so first Nc6, possibly Qe7 and after that begin with pawn pushing either by e4-Nf6 or Kh8-g5-h5 followed by g4 etc. but it is important to develop all your pieces before you launch attack!

fantastic system vs boring auto-move London players, seems like white can get into trouble out of nowhere very fast. I guess c4,b4 like in Bf4 vs KID is the right way to go for white to get the counterplay? I also analysed some Qd5+ after dxe5. Anyway I wouldn't want to be in white shoes with such massive KID style attack rollin. Btw this system somehow reminds me of Leningrad Dutch vs London as well with Ne4, Nc6 setup and blasting with e5 if you know what I'm talking about. Thanks for sharing! Will definitely use this in future games! 😎
