I REALLY enjoyed this video! It's interesting to see the "behind the scenes" of your cooking and calorie cycling. Suggestion for a future video: how you calculate your plan for and then calculate your restaurant meals would be helpful.

@@mindypweightloss I have another suggestion for upcoming video (a good one when you approach your 100 milestone maybe?) share with us things that have improved (some of mine: improvement in stamina, pain, inflammation, cravings, and things like fitting in places=chairs, etc. ) I do some journaling and symptom tracking and look back occasionally to improvements that came with weight loss and would suggest it for others as they start this journey. It's eye opening to think back to my previous self. It would be inspiring for those of us who have over 100lbs to lose to hear your your improvements. I'm down 60lbs (30lbs w/Mounjaro) from my top weight (374). I may not yet be where I want to be, but thank goodness I am not where I used to be!

Lol... I get you, girl. Every Thursday I have to clean out my fridge (we have a trash service that picks up Sun-Thurs so if I don't clear it out then I have to smell it for 3 days) and that kickstarts the process for me. I also have a grocery shopping date with Nikki every Sunday so I know I have to have my meal plan done by then. Believe me when I say some weeks it isn't done until 3am on Sunday. 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you Belinda. 😊 With the brands I use it has 22g per serving as long as you are using my 24oz cottage cheese recipe. I have seen it vary by up to 4g depending on the brand of cottage cheese. 💜

Also wanted to mention Macro Friendly Foods @elyseaellis on IG has a monthly subscription that gives you access to her app and website and she gives monthly meal plans with grocery lists and everything. It's REALLY affordable and her recipes are AMAZING and very high in protein. Her serving sizes are notoriously huge... just a warning. Lol. Also... if you have kids a lot of people talk about how family friendly her food is. 😊 I have been thinking about taking the plunge myself but I want to make sure y'all have access to the recipes I use. 😞

In the caloried totals section are you counting Protein calories or ounces or ?

Macros are almost always totaled as grams of that macro. So it's calculating the total grams of protein to consume, not the calories. I hope that helps. ❤️

Hey Nikkie, MOST of my meals come from Macro Friendly Food for exactly this reason. All of her recipes are pre-logged in MFP and MacrosFirst, which makes it super convenient. But, when I don't use her recipes both Macros First and MyFitnessPal have a recipe feature where you plug in all the ingredients you used and enter the number of servings and it calculates the calories and macros per serving for you. ❤️

I don't understand. I'm starting Mounjaro in a few days and looked up what to eat and one doctor says not to eat any of the stuff you showed in your fridge, a nutritionist said something different, then another doctor said something different than the other two. The "experts" seem to be nothing but grifters. What you have in your fridge looks like a totally normal diet to me. I guess I don't need to eat any differently than I already am? It's all confusing.

I wouldn't take diet advice from anyone other than a dietician. Doctors receive hardly any training at all on nutrition, and pretty much anyone can call themselves a nutritionist... it's not regulated. When I decided to finally get my weight under control this time around, I realized that if it was going to last, I would have to follow a diet I could sustain for the rest of my life. I just watch how many calories I eat, and I make sure I get at least 30% of my calories from protein. (I just released a video on the importance of protein a couple weeks ago if you're curious about why) Losing weight is difficult... ultimately consistency is the only way you will do it. So, unless you have health constraints (or the meds make you sick if you eat certain foods) I would eat the food you like. Everything in moderation!! ❤️

There's no definition of "clean" that everyone can agree upon. All food is processed in some way (except maybe produce), and there is no specific diet that you "gotta" do on these meds. I've lost over 120 lbs eating this way without any major side effects, and it's a way of eating that is sustainable for me, which is THE MOST important part. The only diet that works is one you can follow long term. In regard to moving your body... exercise has very little to do with weight loss. I lost my first 65 lbs without doing any exercise apart from very infrequent, extremely short walks. Most medical experts agree that weight loss is almost all your diet.

I was using an app to track food, water, et al., that works with my provider & health coach, but had so many issues with it's glitches. I just told my health coach I was going to start using a different one. And there's Mindy recommending a new app! I've been tracking macros since August, and this Macros First app is amazing! I LOVE the look & am happy with not much of a learning curve with it either! Thank you!

Given that this was a video about creating a meal plan... the good thing is you can use it to make whatever food you like. Unless you are farming and butchering your own food everything is processed in one way or another. I don't have the time or desire to make everything I eat from scratch. To each their own.
