We generally recommend our PosiTector 6000 over a PosiTector 200 for measuring coating thickness on metal substrates for a few reasons - Lower cost, larger selection of probes (no ultrasonic gel required), greater accuracy and full conformance to international standards for measuring coating thickness over metal substrates. That said, there are coating thickness applications on metal that can be measured using the PosiTector 200 when specific criteria are met.
