It doesn't only look professional, the technique you used was almost professional itself! I should know, I study printing and publishing and I've made (regular sized) hardcover books using somewhat similar method to this :) Great job, the minibooks came out beautifully! ^ - ^ May I make a request for a future video? You did do a video explaining what kind of materials you need for proper doll face-ups, but what would you personally recommend people should get first, like basic mostly fit for all -materials? Because sometimes people could be short on money and would like to get a little more specific recommendations about what they really need ^^ Keep your videos coming, I love your face-ups, they inspire me so much! I am planning on making my first face-up but I live in Finland and it's so cold here I might just need to wait for spring or summer to come, since the sealants are otherwise hard to apply without ruining the piece.

Another cool thing I've seen done is before you glue on the paper to your spine, you can add a tiny thin ribbon as a bookmark. You can also (very carefully) paint the edges of your textblock with stuff like gold acrylic paint while you have it clamped together (and before you put on the cover).
@Dollightful

+Paradoxical Intention Oh, that's a great idea! It would add even cuter realism to the book. :D And I love the way gold-edged books look, too. Thank you for commenting!!

This is AWESOME! Thank you! The first mini I made as a child (about 6-7), was a book. I turned it into a floral journal and taped in confetti leaves and flowers like they were collected and squished between pages so this made me really happy. Mine wasn't anywhere near this quality, of course. Haha, thanks!! ^_^

I came back to this one after watching your recent Halloween repaint. I've been working on customizing a couple of 1:9 scale barns; I cut out actual horse book covers from some magazine ads, and glued them to thin cardboard. But I want to make them look more like books. Since I don't have the back covers I'll use your faux leather spine technique from that other video, so at least there will be some volume to them. I have a fantastic book called "Know Your Horse Inside and Out" that I'm going to scan front and back covers, spine and a few pages and then resize; I'll use this technique to make it a readable book for my riders.

I'm only watching this because, when I was a little girl, I had an old American Girl Doll. But, because the doll itself was about $300, I didn't have any accessories. I'd make my own! I'd ask for an adult to help and make her tiny copies of my favorite books. :) I saw this and all the memories just slammed back
