OMG this is so helpful! Literally every other tutorial just magically jumps from "Learn it on a trampoline." to "Just fuckin' send it on a concrete vert ramp, yolo." Without showing any transition in between.

Thanks you. Filmed out of my shoe with my phone so I had to film vertically to get any shots. I’m looking into getting a tripod

@@ekblades1440 wow! Knowing this makes everything even more impressive. Definitely get a tripod. Even if you're shooting on a phone (looks very good btw) it would be a shame not to capture your skating and tutorials fully. Check eBay. You can probably find a decent phone tripod for under $20. Keep it up! 👍

This was so helpful. But after putting my hand on the coping, I tried it with height and slammed on my shoulder and wrist because there wasn't enough rotation

I like your tutorial, but please tell me how those big numbers (540) in skating works? because this is just flip over shoulder with 180 twist rotation. Where is the rest from 540?

I start forward and face backwards, forwards and then backwards again thus making it a 540

Thanks, for the 540 watch the number of times my face does a 180. I start forward then look back forward and then back again making it a 540

Can you explain to me how this is a 540 and not 180 MF. If you look at your skates at the end of the video and draw a line in the direction they are pointing at they how I see it, do not rotate that much.. Anyhow awesome tutorial!

Watch my head in the first clip, I face backwards, forwards and then backwards again thus making it a 540, for a 180 I would only look backwards once

Why do so many people get this wrong? A Misty Flip is a Frontflip with a 180. This is a Bio 540.

What your talking about is called a barani or front flip 180. In a bio your feet can’t be higher than your head, if they ever go over your head then it is a misty. Check out some ski tutorials for a better explanation

@@ekblades1440 Well, where I grew up, your feet have to be above your head for it to be a Bio! 😅 Otherwise it doesn't count. Maybe the definition in Skating is different.

@@climbtheskyspine5748 I was told bio is between 45 and 90 degrees, a bio shouldn’t be a flip and should be more of a spin, kinda like a forward cork. Personally I think they should be under one name like front off axis flip and it would be a lot less confusing

If your feet go over your head it’s a misty. In a bio your feet stay under your head. If you can do one you can do the other.

That's a bio 540, not a misty flip.

@@ekblades1440 doing a rocket isn't your feet going "over your head" it's extending your legs in front, a misty is more of a "round off." A front flip 180 and/or going forward into a cartwheel and finishing the 180 as your body completes the "flip"/going past upside down.
