The Magnolia is lovely! Especially Love how you used the actual paint names in your color wheel. It made it so much easier to understand what & where specific colors fell on the color wheel. Thanks a bunch!

Fantastic tutorial and stunning art piece! ❤️. Also, I love the ergonomic design of your workspace - I'm quite jealous actually. The stand holds your reference photo, I assume, and has paper towels attached. 👍🏻. The art "board" looks as if it could be adjusted many ways; I especially love that it sits higher than your table top! Awesome....now back to learning and creating art 😊

I like your teachings, you explain it very nicely and clearly, you remind me a lot of a dear friend of mine!. I wonder if, when you are painting on your own and not doing a tutorial, you have the same thoughts about the colour wheel that you explain here or if you are more intuitive about the colors, I mean, if your explanations on the colour wheel are for people to understand the way to use the colours or because you use that technique in your thoughts while you are painting.

Just seen this sorry - yes I do this intuitively but it helps for beginners to have the process explained to them before it becomes second nature.

I just watched your magnolia flower painting. Beautifully done. I see on the video how easily you layer color to darken an area. When I try going over an area, especially one that has dried, to darken it, I get a nasty looking bloom. How do you avoid blooms in your beautiful paintings?

Hi Anna! I’ve recently discovered your channel and I learned a lot already! One question- in your color wheel, the warm yellow is just below the cool yellow. Clockwise: it’s cool yellow to warm green to cool green to cool blue to warm blue to warm purples to cool reds to warm red and back to cool yellow. Is this correct? I qant to arrange my color in this way bec it’s much easier to shift up or down :) by the way, where can i put the browns? Like burnt umber and umber? Thank you so much! ♥️
@NatureStudioTV
@NatureStudioTV 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Cristy! If you start by mapping the primary colours, you can then locate the rest of your colours in the gaps by working out where they are closer to. I place neutrals between blue and purple on my palette. You can see the arrangement I use on the PDF on my Equipment page here: www.annamasonart.com/equipment/ :-)

I'm wondering if anyone knows if this artist uses hot or cold press paper? I'm guessing hot, which I've never used, but wanted to be sure.

Hi Barbara, I always use hot pressed paper, it's better for creating the fine detail required for realistic painting. Hope this helps! :)

You must be painting for prints.... You take no heed to the lightfast ratings of the pigments used. 'Opera' is fugitive..... I only know of 'white' magnolias...hmmm Nice flower, and great tutorials!

G Man, I checked the website, and opera rose has been upgraded to a "B" for lightfastness. Buyers should always frame with UV glass (most know enough to do that), so between the two, it should never be a problem.
