Hey is a couple things you can do to your overflow valve on your ppump. Or you can just buy a torktek unit.

Great to see a knowledgeable person, pass down the 12v freebies and tips and tricks that all the 12v owners figured out years ago. Too many guys find the old 12v tricks and want to sell a" New Snake Oil.

harbor tools sells a spring assortment for cheap too its funny i did this mod along with a bunch of other things i just looked at the pump and thought in terms of flow and didnt even see your video i just did it i used a dremel and a tiny tiny bit to open the hole up im glad my thoughts about this were on the right track

from reading the comments, I believe people are not totally understanding how the fuel system works. Maybe a video tracing fuel from tank to the injectors, discussing the components along the way would clear up many minds

How does the overflow valve mod work with the spring mod with a standard lift pump?

Instead of using those I ended up using a Fass FPR-1001 FUEL PRESSURE regulator on my P-pump which has been working fine for the past two years along with a Fass 140gph pump and I get a constant 30psi minimum with it

That is another good way to do it. I have personally never nothing it with a regular on the return with a electric lift pump

Just a question. How do you remove the overflow valve? I couldn't take it out, but I think I must remove the small nut on top first then the rest? I know you're busy, but eventually I will get around to it again. Thanks Rob, for all the great info. If it wasn't for your information, I wouldn't have jumped on getting my own 12 valve pickup.

if you can't it out you can cut the head a bit, some have the piece cut out some dont

4th gen glock's do the same double spring thing! How do you handle the return line when your on your black tank? Where does it return and do you end up pumping one tank into another? Thanks and your awesome!

hey i have a 1998.5 5.9 with the vp 44 in a motor home...i added the fass DRP lift pump this pump replaced the stock lift pump but the PSI coming out of the fuel filter is about 17psi. will this help my set up and if so what part do i need from the link above.

15-17psi is about as much as you want to run on the vp44 pump.

Hey Rob👋, I hope your doing well. I just tried to pull out my over flow valve but I found it next to impossible even though there seems to be a cut out on the head casting, the return line/banjo seems to prevent extraction. Any ideas? Thanks again and keep up the great vidoes👌🙏

is the ball seat removeable or is it machined into the overflow valve, just making sure I haven't lost any parts because I dont see one. The reason I ask is because I have watched other video that shows a removable ball seat that attaches to the spring. I have the exact stock valve in your video, and when I was taken it apart, my pieces went everywhere. With that said I did find my spring, ball, copper washer and nut. Thank you for your time and nice video it help alot

The seat is part of the bolt it’s self.

Adding my fuel pressure is always a good idea. I personally like to see above 45 psi at WOT

My fuel pressure is around 60psi at idle and drops to abt 25psi at WOT do you think the overflow valve would cause this

I did this on my over flow valve and I was getting 25 psi at idle then after I drove it a mile it got worse then it’s ever been it was at 7 psi at idle. Is there air in the system or what could cause this? Before I did this it was at 11 at idle

i would pull the valve part and make sure it 's inside , if it is could be lift pump didn't like the extra pressure

Rob, the local fuel shop told me to not go over 30 psi on fuel delivery because it could leak into the crankcase through the pump. I run a Ppumped 24 valve, and a 60 psi electric Ford pump with a fuel pressure regulator. I try to keep it at about 28 psi, because of what they told me. They did not build the pump, so it is not to guard their warranty or anything. Anyway, you don''t have any trouble with that high of pressure?

i am not sure way they would say that on a p-7100 pump, i have run them as high as 80psi , My 95 is at 60 psi and has been for years all my truck are way high then 30 psi no issues

The pump internal front seal is where the fuel will spill out under pressure and into the timing cover and then into the sump. Industry wide 30 psi recommendation. Pull your check and springs and put a fuel pressure regulator inline between pump pressure/ return fitting and tank then you can adjust in 1 psi increments. Giving more control.

I just did this, I am now seeing 70 psi at idle, give it a little Rev and it goes down, I am not able to drive it yet but is 70 at idle okay or that to much?

Yep me too, mine jumped from 17-22psi and now is at a solid 60psi at idle, and I was like oh shit is that too much?

If I run a fixed “75ofv” what pressure should I set my airdog 165 5g at? It’s got the external pressure regulator on it

So with factory injection pump on 98 auto 12v would a guy use welded idea or spring idea? Oh my truck when i start it has been idling slow on first start now i gotta give it fuel to start. It starts then immediately quits just gonna make sure the fuel shut off is opening all the way, probably a lift pump eh? thanks! Turns out the fuel shut off do dad wasnt opening far enough (thank you for that video 2!) thats good I only change lift pumps at -20 in two feet of snow. Gonna do a solenoid delete like on Jay Bob's garage

Did this now I have a leak in my stock fuel filter and also a ticking noise what causes this and is it a problem?

You ramped the pressure up so it the fuel filter could have a issue if it there was a issue there. You will have more noise as it making more pressure

Yo! Great video!! I seen on another video that if you pinch off the return line and your lift pump pressure goes up then the unloader could be causing low power. Is this the case? Thanks!

@@CUTTERUPROB thanks! One more if you don’t mind. I’ve got 70 psi of oil pressure and when I throttle up it gets to 95 100 psi. Two new filters two different mechanical gauges. Oils clean of metal. Pressure regulator has very little wear.

No you want to upgrade the pump. But keep pressure much lower then a ppump

I wanna pick your brain quick because im severely lost. My 215 12valve is doing wonky things. (Draw straw done correctly, all 3/8” AN fuel lines for feed, brand new stock lift pump cat filter setup etc. pressure tested and vac tested system no leaks) Now with a tork Tek OFV050 (didnt pay attention when ordering that it was designed for fass/airdog) it will run but under acceleration or let of it eventually stumble choke out and die. Have to use the plunger primer on pump a billion times and it will start again for a minute. With an OFV010 so basically stock replacement ofv, it fired right up and drove awesome then died and would not even start. At all. No matter what i did. Doesnt make sense. Could the inj pump have airlocked? Should have cracked loose the ofv and used the primer again until fuel squirted? Threw the OFV050 back in and fired up again.

The 50 should only be used with a fass/ airdog. The ofv010 should work with the setup. The line you hav from the tank is it ptfe or rubber an line ? The filter setup you have is it pre or post the lift pump and how old in the lift pump

@@CUTTERUPROB lift pump brand new. Literally. AN line is nylon braided exterior. No inner liner. No soft squishy spots in entire stretch of hose abs have checked filter no contaminants as well as screen in pump.
