Um, GREAT video...IF you own a...what was it called, Precharge Pump? Which, if we're honest, IS the reason you would use an air compressor, to get that blast of air to fill the tire prior to every pump of air you put in bleeding out the sides. I'll continue my search for a truly compressorless solution.

Agreed. I came looking for a good solution. I don't have that kinda pump so this won't help me out. What I have used is a CO2 inflator kit to get mine to mount (without a compressor or one of those pumps). The CO2 has produced enough pressure quickly to get the bead set. You might try that.

The video title is misleading - it shows the use of a "pre-charge compressor" pump, which *is* a compressor in my book. I thought this was going to show a technique for mounting tires with a standard floor-pump

Waste of time if you just have a regular air pump.

How do you get a regular air pump to provide enough blast to seat the bead?

I ended up shelling out for Fillmore valves. Their design allows for more airflow and makes seating with a regular pump a breeze. They can be difficult to inject directly through the valve and are a bit expensive. However they are easy to seat.@@sAmiZZle82
