HOW TO MOUNT RING KEYPAD TO WALL with wire hiding inside wall. Very useful IF YOU DISABLE POWER SAVE MODE so keypad lit up when you walk by and won't drain battery when Hardwired.

The way I mount it with the plug outside so I can plug and unplug anytime. Thanks for the useful comment. Also you can DISABLE POWER SAVE MODE so led light up keypad when you walk by and won't drain battery.

@@prattyj5j5 it's has a rechargeable battery built-in. So you don't have to conceal the wire like I did. You have to charge it when battery low

Hey some users have reported keypad issues due to leaving it plugged in all the time, just just be wary.

What issues? Mine has been wired for more than a year. Ring even says you can connect it to power 24x7.

Yes I hardwired my keypad and about 6months later it started to mess up as the sound when entering the code to arm/disarm would not sound and the siren when the alarm goes off would also not sound I called ring and they said that because it was plugged in (hardwired) for a long period of time that's why it messed up so ring sent me out a new one and now I just keep it running on battery

Defeats the purpose of going with something like the Ring alarm. Pretty much the whole point is to not have to do any major drilling and installation.

Yeah, but I don’t have to remove my pad to charge it either and can keep the PIR sensor active all the time without battery drain. I installed my keypads where my old alarm panels were wired so technically I didn’t have to drill anything. I just need to have to hole patched some since the box behind old alarm keypad is larger than the Ring panels.

No, it is an optional upgrade. If you want to continue to charge your keypad, have at it. For those with the ability to keep it wired 24/7 it is a nice option.
