Tips and tricks for beginners in the survival game Nightingale. Moving your base can be a little tricky with only having one respite point. Here are the steps that you need to take.

If you give your helper a Torch, it basically tells them, "Your only job is to stay near me and keep me well lit." It makes it so that they don't do ANYTHING else.

'X' bringing up the build menu to be able to move stuff around was frankly a game changer for base design. This should be way more obvious for new players.,

I also like the "AE pick up" when you hold down E - wasn't used to that from other games.

I did move realms once the workaround solution i did without destroying the Campfire and such is fill them with Crude Plant Fibers. Then i do the resource transfer.

Wow your info of "reset realm" just improved my whole opinion of the game. I started throwing down realms of the same type that I had created before and was going back to the same stuff, same markers I had placed and everything. It had me bumming. Glad to see there is a way!

I’m having and issue where whenever I open a new forest realm and reset it always gives me a forest realm with orange grass and blue sky. With green lizard deer with red horns. Is that normal for every forest biome to look the same before using minor cards?

The realms do have a set theme yes until you use the minor card.

Yes. There is limited diversity in them at this time until you add a minor card to change it. Also, if you change the difficulty level of the realm you will get some different creatures.

When you place the New Cairn down does it allow you to have 350 build slots ??? without it i only got 86 or such sooo not enough to build anything of great size

With a cairn, there is an item limit per realm of 350 (items are chests beds, crafting machines lights, furniture, etc), then there is a structure limit of 100 (this appears to be completed buildings), and a structure piece (walls, floors, doors, etc) limit PER building of 300. Currently it seems that some of the games builds are counting toward the limit as well. Hopefully this is a bug that will get fixed. Also, hopefully the build limit will get increased b/c it's too low atm, esp for mp.

When i tried toi build on another Abeyance Realm i could only use 86 to make a new base made it quite difficult to move when i could not even finish my building off @@GamingwithKristi

Dragging a filled trunk over considerable distance may be bugged. I made a 300m+ move carrying my 9 filled trunks one by one over hill and dale. Sometimes they would get stuck on a rock cliff and wouldn't move, but eventually they all arrived. Unfortunately that's when the real bugs cropped up. After the move in their new location, the visual representation of opening didn't appear, neither did the the transfer of items in or out occur visually. I had to create brand new trunks, trust that the transfer button was actually moving them onto my person and then transferring them all to the new trunks. It's like a blind man trying to rearrange the furniture in his home. But the blind man got the job done and in the end I had to destroy all the old trunks. Instead of calling upon U-Haul I should have called Allied Van Lines. I left a detail bug report for the Developers.

Only 9 wow that would be great i have like almost 70 but i want to move to an abeyance realm on extreme difficulty would be lvl 40 but i built in a crappy site the first time this time want it up on a hill overlooking stuff (great view)

I'm still unclear on the reset and haven't been brave enough to try it myself. If you have a Respite in a given biome, and you open a realm to the same biome and choose reset, does it wipe the one your current Respite is in? I feel like if you want to move from say a Forest to a new Forest, you need to move twice. Once to some temporary swamp or desert place, and then reset and roll the new forest?

As long as you keep the portal active it should be fine. Just don't destroy the portal or choose something different at that portal until you're ready for the original realm to be gone.

John, can you report back here what you found, because I want to do the same things you do. I'm too fearful to lose all my estate work in the current Realm and need locations that are closer to each other instead of spread far across the map. Thanks.

@@GamingwithKristi it would be most welcome, Kristi. Having two resets named the same isn't good. One should be called wipe, the other reset or update. Also the confusion over closing a portal, then playing two different cards, closing that portal and then playing the first two original cards hoping your stuff or markers are still there.

@@SpaceCadet4Jesus Well I did it and at first it worked but due to a complex series of portals and choices i managed to faff the whole thing up and lose a lot of stuff which makes me not want to play now heh. But some comments: 1. Yes you can go from like biome to like biome WITH A reset without destroying your Estate realm. 2. You appear to be able to use the Return to Respite action to return to that realm regardless of if a portal is connected or not 3. However, your "new" estate, before you actually set it as your active Respite is in danger and this is where I screwed up. If you sever the gate connection to that new "like biome" realm, which I did by mistake, there is no way to get back to it! Any further attempts to open a gate will just bring you back to your home If I get over my frustration and restart, this is what I would do upon a second playthrough: 1. Place my initial estate in a biome I definitely would not want long term. For me this is the swamps 2. When ready go rolling through the others until I find where I want to set down for good 3. Setup portals between, but the key here is they would be different biomes so no way to screw up and lose access to one of them

For step 5 where we run back to our other base. What if our other base was in another realm? How to i get back? The travel to respite is easy enough to go back to your new base with supplies but getting back to the original one is what im concerned about

For this problem. You would have to keep the portal to your 'new' realm open and simply go back and forth from your old base to your new one.

Keep the portal active so that you can travel back to it.

Hmmm, I wonder what will happen if you try to move a container while using the portal. Might try it with a less important container.

@@AurioDK But u can move storage boxes in the same realm by using the Respite option. Good to move stuff, Destroy the Respite in ur 1st base. Place 1 in the one you wana move it and press X pick the box press M and travel to Respite. Ez.

I got so much carved wood from smashing all the chests up I loot ends up being great firewood from the stats.

Great tips! :) It's helped to motivate me to move my base from the forest to a desert (I've fallen in love with the night sky there). Here's a hint I'm not sure you know! For whatever reason, you can't right click to transfer quickly to your Helper... but if you double-click it'll quick transfer. Not sure why it's that way with them, but it's been a real life saver for me haha
