Today we will be going over, how to mute or unfollow a friend on Facebook. And I know mute or unfollow may seem a little harsh but I assure you that will no one can see if this change has been done. The friend will NOT be notified that you unfollowed them, and you will still be friends on Facebook. Also, you can still everything they post by going to their profile page.
Alright, let’s get started and turn off your Facebook Friends' posts.
First go to www.facebook.com and sign into your account. Once you have signed into your account, facebook will bring you to your “News Feed page.” This page shows you all your friends’ activity and also random things that facebook thinks you will like.
Video How to Steps:
Step (1) find your friend on facebook. The easiest way to do this is by clicking the search bar at the top and typing your friend’s name. Usually the top result will be your friend.
Then click your friend’s name, this will lead you to their profile.
Step (2) Once you are at your friend’s profile page notice they’re a couple of buttons to the right of the profile page. We are just looking at the “friends” and “following” button today though.
The check marks next to the “friends” and “following” is just saying that “yes” you are their friend and that you are following them. Go ahead and click “following.”
If you are not familiar with the term “following” is just means that whenever a friend post or shares something, Facebook will show it to you through your news feed page.
Step (3) After clicking “following” a couple options will appear in a drop-down menu. You should see the options “see first,” “default,” and “unfollow your facebook friend” along with their descriptions. The “see first” option helps to keep you updated on with your friend’s activity. The “Default” option just keeps it the way it is. And the “unfollow” option stops the friend’s post from showing on your “new feed page.”
And just a reminder, no knows if they have been unfollowed and it will not affect your friend status on Facebook.
