I'm interested to know How does BSD license work in SAAS context (Public or private cloud) when we develop proprietary software product from open source BSD license in terms source code sharing back and also for on-premise installation.

BSD has no requirements when used in SAAS server side. It can have requirements if used in client side code like JavaScript, but they are only notice requirements and easy to comply with.

What would be requirement from BSD v3 open source license stand point, if we choose business model to support both SAAS & also On-Premise s/w (service agreement vs lic agreement)

@@stevecox8646 There is no BSD 3, so are you thinking of GPL3? If so, it actually works about the same for SaaS. GPL3 is quite different for distributed code, however.

@@heathermeeker5298 Also I am evaluating another open source license which has LGPL version 3 (also known as LGPLv3). Can we use this open source LGPL v3 license to build SAAS product which will have both client & server code. Do we need to share the source code for modified open source code Plus proprietary code.

Sorry about that! My video production process was in its infancy when I made this; it has improved over the last couple of years. Unfortunately KZfaq does not allow updating a video. But some of my newer videos should sound better!
