It’s important. The word important was pronounced without neutrality, this is a good word to focus on. Im POR tant. This particular word can give away regional affiliation very easily. Very well done video, great points and well presented, bravo.

Thank you for your feedback! It is much appreciated. And yes, I find most people pronounce the "t"s in that word differently and can often let you know where they are from or whether they speak with an American or British accent, etc.

I’m actually doing this every second of the day in hopes that I’ll sound clearer all the time and Siri can better understand me 😂 Oh! I should mention I naturally slur (lack tongue movement), have some twang, use words like “gunna” “shoulda” etc., and speak too softly or loudly (I’ve been told)

That's great! Self-awareness is half the battle. Focus on practicing and observing your speech and make tweaks and changes as needed. Remember that it's not about being "perfect" 100% of the time - you just want to be understood and feel confident.

I was born and raised in North Jersey in a multi-lingual household (Turkish, Greek, English) and moved to Boston in my teens so you're going to hear a bit of all of those influences :-) We all have accents that are shaped by our upbringing and environments, never forget that.
