A VMC roll over at low altitude after losing an engine is deadly, WATCH THIS. I am posting this because if it saves one life it's worth it. This is Episode One of a multi part series discussing this topic as it keeps happening. WHY are trained pilots continuing to make these fatal mistakes?

Im just an aviation spectstor here, but I feel like it wouldn't be difficult (relatively speaking) to develop extremely reliable auto-featering systems. I'm a little surprised that isn't the norm on twins these days. The fact that the direction of torque on the shaft suddenly reverses in such an event would make for a pretty solid foundation for any safety systems around such a setup I would think as well. Do turbine engines for light twins tend to have systems like that?

To your point. The Diamond Twin Stars, DA42 & DA62 are equiped with an auto feather system incase of an engine failure. It identifies the failed engine and yells at you (so to speak) then you confirm and press a button for whichever engine has failed. The throttle system then auto feathers the engine, closes the throttles and mixture. Their safety record is outstanding and the DA42 has been in production since the mid 2000's. Really a cool airplanes. Thanks for the comments 😎
