That’s awesome. Thanks.. I know I left a lot of stuff out but that should be enough for somebody to see that it’s possible.🙏🏾

I’ve always wanted a skate shop. I started skating in 1998. I’m 39 and still skate hoping to find a way to finally make my dream a reality. We don’t have a skate shop in my city. My problem is I don’t have good credit because of student loans and don’t make a lot of money in my field . If there’s a will there’s a way.

To me the biggest fear of opening a shop would be paying back the bank loan as well as paying the monthly lease. How does that work? Seems like a lot of money…

It’s a very hard business to keep open only do it if you really love skateboarding.

Did you have to take a loan out to get started and if so how much ?

You don’t have to take out a loan if you have the money saved up. The way I do it is a still work a day job and slowly invest money into the shop. It’s a lot of work, but sometimes that’s what you have to do. Some of these skateboar distributors will let you get a line of credit, though to help you stuck your store.

Having the shop in a prime location with high foot traffic is crucial to attract both skaters and, of course, those non-skaters. This video is filled with so many valuable insights! Thanks for sharing and keeping it real! 🛹👍
