Tenant locked themselves out of the property accidentally. I watched the video and showed up with a shoelace. Took about 10 minutes to figure out the technique and I was able to pop the door open. Super helpful video.

But I think at one point we didn’t fold it back far enough and when I closed the door the vibrations probably moved it in place. Anyway it took me about 30 seconds. Amazing video, great knowledge. This video seriously saved me. I have this lock on my house and it's extra springy so when I pulled the front door closed a little too hard, the bar sprung forward and locked me out. Found this video, pulled my shoelace off my shoe and got back in the house in no time without having to break down the door!

My impatient wife had called a locksmith while I was trying this method (we are in Phoenix and it's 105 degrees). I wasn't able to get the first string I used to work bcuz there were no ball bearings to hold it in place. I finally found some Nylon string (tie down from local hardware store) which worked perfectly to squeeze between the joints and stay put. After I got it opened I was able to call the locksmith to cancel. He was surprised I got it opened. He told me it would have cost (starting at) $85. So thanks for this. I'm now my wife's hero and I saved at least $85.

This video JUST literally, this moment, saved my night. Our dog managed to maneuver his leash that was hanging from the latch and locked us out of the room. Thank you thank you thank you. We left the garage door opener in our old car we just traded in. It was after midnight so dealership is closed. I left the latch latched on the front door so I googled how to unlock latch from outside and came across this video. Life saver. We are in the house.

I rent an apartment that has two bedrooms with a jack and jill bathroom connecting. Currently the doors have knob locks on the inside, however that compromises privacy for either of the bedrooms. Since both doors have extended jambs leading into the bathroom, I've decided to have knob locks on the bedroom side of the doors, then put swing bar locks on the bathroom side. This solution left me worried about an emergency situation where a bathroom occupant would find themselves unable to open those locks, but this video has helped assuage that concern. Thank you!

I tried ur method, it worked. It took me a couple try’s but I got in. Ur video definitely helped . The only hard part about was me trying to get the top loop to go in. But I got it done on my 4 try. I watched this video on March 11, 2021. A thunderstorm caused the circuit breaker for my garage door opener to pop. I had a key to the front door however we have that exact same latch on the front door also. I used my shoelace. Played MacGyver and it worked like a charm. Follow the steps exactly and you’ll be through your door in no time.

I was about to call the police on my roommate cause he was not answering the door. Knocked n banged Knocked banged n yelled nothing. It's cold. No coat on groceries in hand, I'm thinking wtf!!! My girlfriend kept saying to call the police. She looked up n found ur tutorial. I Knocked on 2 neighbors' doors before getting a string. The first one gave me dental floss when I asked for string😅) 2nd one I showed a pic of the string on ur video n he gave me a shoestring. My friend's Asian hands are thin but she said she couldn't do it. My hands are thick but I was determined.
