When I opened my EMX-1 I found a live squirrel inside running all the equipment.

Trap for young players: I just followed this video to check out a wobbly volume pot on an EMX-1 SD, and found the screw at 1:24 was actually recessed under the corner of the plastic display cover. It couldn't be removed without damaging the cover corner, or the glue that holds it in place. Short cut: It turns out *all* the 12 black screws removed between 0:57 and 1:24 can stay in. The plastic mid-section they screw into cannot separate from the plain steel panel, without un-gluing that display cover. It must get glued on after inserting those screws during manufacture. Even after removing those front panel screws, the mid-section is still being held onto the steel panel by the display cover in front during this video. Only time I can see this helping would be if you need to intensively clean up the unit after spilling a drink and there was residue between the steel panel and mid-section. The controls PCB is only held onto the mid-piece by the 17 black screws removed from 2:28 onwards. (Video removes one of the arp ribbon screws as well in that step.) The silver screws next to the tubes are all that hold the steel panel/mid-section/controls PCB onto the lower case. Most of the hold-down is done by the screws that hold the blue face panel in place. BTW, to avoid chance of stripping: the face panel's screws take a 2.5mm hex bit. :^)

After doin all that, a circuit bend would have been well worth. would have put an SM to SD card adapter at least. Would have also changed the yellow tube LED's to blue or even slow gradient ones. OH well..

@CzarnyJobacz Dopiero po wymianie zacząłem używać wzmocnienia za pomocą lamp bo wcześniej według mnie bardziej szkodziło niż polepszało. Trzeba pamiętać też że lampy najlepiej używać tylko do perkusji.

Is it possible to repair the slide on the arpeggiator? I got an emx with a slide that doesn't slide so good, like it's bent or rusty, it pops out of its track sometimes too. I've found the part on some websites but it's always discontinued/out of stock.

To make a long story short: my Shift Button is not responding anymore ;( So I can actually only use the MX as Hardwired Synth in my Studio Setup... Any suggestions how to fix that Issue??? @AkselPL hheheh no jasne ale zawsze jakaś namiastka analogowości dzięki valve force testowałem też groovetubes ecc83s (niezle miętolą przy niskiej czestotliwości) ale jakoś bardziej brzmieniowo odpowiada mi telefunken.. szkoda ze od lat nie produkują i są przez to bardzo drogie..

ja bym polecal lampy Telefunken'a ECC83 12AX7 niestety para kosztuje okolo 1000zl
