They are hidden out of sight on many cars out there. The Benz is one of those cars where it isn't visible to the eye at first glance

Thanks for the response but i know where the latch is but when i pull on it, the hood doesn’t pop and i don’t want to break the latch handle by pulling to hard, do you have any suggestion? What to do? J.

depending on the vehicle you have you may be able to get a long tool like a screwdriver through the front grill to press the hood latch over while pressing down on the hood itself. if you are able to release the hood latch with the tool, you should be able to get the hood open. hope this works for you👌 let me know

I wish AMG could learn something from Toyota! My E55 hood latch would not cooperate. Low coolant indicator, etc., ok, I pull into a highway service station. Firstly, the tongue would not poke out of the grill. Secondly, the red PLASTIC handle, broke, at the point of the S/steel cable/swage-fitting. So, I’m double in trouble. I miss my 6.3 sel when these these plastic parts were made of casted aluminum.

Does your CLA250 have a motorized hood release? Mine does. It stopped working and now I have to pry my hood open after pulling the red latch.

I would use a tool and try to pop the hood from the front of the car.

how old is the battery? Has the vehicle been sitting for long periods of time without being driven or started up? there could be a possible issue with the positive or negative wiring that connects to the battery terminals.

It’s been sitting since July this year. I don’t drive yet and just have it parked at my apartment parking spot. I didn’t know I had to run it once in a while. I went to open the door last week and the fob didn’t work. I figured out how to open the door finally, but couldn’t figure out how to open the hood when the two truck co comes to restart the battery for me

@@prettybaby80 I'm guessing from what you have told me is that your battery is dead. you can jump start it as much as possible, but th3 battery is bad and needs to be replaced due to it sitting for soo long. I would ask a mechanic to do a battery test on it to see what voltage is being transferred from the battery. this way you will know right away weather the battery is good or bad and weather or not the battery is the issue. depending on the mechanic shop, many will test it for free, others won't. hope this helps you out
