I recently bought a DDJ-SX (my first controller) and used your tips at first. but as i have been scratching on technics for 25 years and mainly using 12" vinyl to scratch with and 7" only sometimes,i found the 33 setting best (for me). I have to disagree that touch sensor level is useless. the jog wheels use the electricity in your body (fingers) and if you have the touch sensor level on full as you suggest. i found that if you just hoover very close to the jog wheel (ie not touch) the music would stop! making some scratches not perform well. the solution to making the jog wheel act just like vinyl,which only stops when you place your fingers on it,is... gradually lower the touch sensor levels while gradually lowering out stretched finger tip and when the track only stops when you physically touch the joy wheel and not jump the void between finger and joy wheel. then you have set it correct to your body and for scratching. for me it was when i hit about 11 o'clock on the touch sensor knobs.

for me, #1 - I go 33 ... #2 - 512 ms.... #3 - quick fader is a must. i would add bass low to about 10 o'clock.... treble/mids hot to at least 2 o'clock for crisper sound unless of course you are juggling or scratch breaks. also using the tips of my middle and pointer finger like a chisel instead of the whole upper portion of the finger like a paint roller gives pin-point control.

Can you do a video on how to set up the sx2 with serato

I'm convinced a mac is needed for Serato. Just not the same when using a pc laptop. You dont get the same audio response.

Hey Bernie thanks for the comment, you've thrown me there - those knobs control the sensitivity of the touch-sensitive part of the jogwheel, are you saying the same thing?

Now serato recognise my pioneer ddj-sx controller but it's not working :( Fail to connect audio is the message that appears...Tried serato support but they are taking too long to answer...Can you guys help me??? PLEASE HELP?!?!?! My jog wheel lights are blinking (kinda with the beat) and the meter lights are very very dim. but the master meter is normal and bright. ONLY WITH SERATO, works fine with Virtual DJ.

hi guys to get ddjsx to work with virtual-dj please head the djtechtools and there is a mapping for it and you need to upgrade the frimeware of ddj-sx from the pioneer website. u and it will control Traktor and Virtual dj

what do you mean by wear it out, will i have to just replace the knob of the cross fader or the whole mechanism?

I think he may mean the touch pads used for hotcues, rolls, etc

Man if you understand your music and its production you dont need effects. no track is produced to be ruined by weak pioneer effects..
