Starbucks is always that safe space in a city with zero vegan cafes and no plant milk options anywhere.

Vegan Starbucks Barista here. They have changed having separate pitchers and blenders for nondairy milks, this includes the tea shakers that do get milk put in them. If cross contamination is a concern for you, ask for a clean pitcher from the back!

@@tinaa140 you can ask for a clean pitcher. I do have a dairy allergy and the clean ones in the back are sanitized. The issue in the past was that some baristas didn't care if the pitcher was labeled non-dairy or not, they would just grab the closest clean pitcher and make a drink. Cross contamination was everywhere. Now it is much safer for people with allergies in my opinion.

I work for Starbucks and there is signs posted all around the kiosk & legally we are NOT responsible of any cross contamination and there’s warning signs right there for everyone to read. We don’t go to the back for a brand new shaker. Hence the warning signs saying we are not responsible for any cross contamination 😊

Also I get the strawberry cream frappaccino with coconut milk and mocha drizzle inside with no whip. It taste like chocolate covered strawberries

Some simple ideas...just a simple sweet or unsweet tea (black, green, white, or passionfruit), or a simple coffee (hot or iced) with coconut, soy, or almond milk and sweetener, or a refresher (mango dragonfruit, cool lime, or strawberry). You can also add flavorings (caramel, mocha, vanella, hazelnut, etc) They also sell bagels, cookies, muffins, bottles of orange juice, potato chips, granola bars, nuts, etc, all kinds of things. Before I started going there (5 years ago now) I thought all they sold was coffee too. If you get an iced drink, I would ask for light ice and no extra water added because they love to load the cup up with extra ice and extra water and then you have a ton of ice and barely any drink (and a watered down one at that) . Lol. And the cup sizes are tall (12 ounces), grande (16 ounces), venti (24 ounces), and trenta (30 ounces).

my go-to is just a plain cold brew coffee with non-dairy creamer. i wish starbucks would start doing creamer, not just plant milks! i want like half & half thickness!

I also used to like it but now I find it too sweet. They say matcha is sweetened and their milks, except almond, are also sweetened. Plus, if they make frappuccino they add sugar based “binding base” 3-6 pumps depending on size.

Vegan starbucks barista here and just wanted you all to know the Caramel Brule sauce has dairy in it. It is not vegan. Same with the caramel drizzle on the Salted Caramel Mocha.

Caramel sauce has dairy... we did not use that. We used the caramel syrup which is vegan! :)

Starbucks sugar-free syrups are technically vegan but it is made with Splenda which is NOT cruelty-free 😕. My go to is a soy vanilla latte (sometimes with an extra shot) 💚

Soy milk is so so sweet. Makes my latte undrinkable. Even without any syrup. Almond milk is the only one that’s unsweetened.. unfortunately.

Melissa yeah but almond milk curdles at high temps and is absolutely disgusting in anything hot..unless your looking for a burnt nutty flavor to overtake the drink.

I never had problems with almond milk being curdled. I find my lattes tasty and smooth. Soy milk is the sweetest, then coconut milk and then their unsweetened almond. Once they gave me all 3 non dairy milks so I can compare the sweetness. Soy milk was undrinkable sweet.

I always order a coconut milk, vanilla latte with 3 pumps sugar free vanilla..love this. If they have sugar free mocha, I will get a couple pumps of that too.

I'm not sure if they do this at all Starbucks locations, but you can hack a green smoothie by buying one of their (bottled) green juices and a banana or two, then ask them to blend it together for you.

I'm basic and I just get a soy latte- sometimes iced! The matcha green tea latte with coconut milk they are advertising currently is interesting. During Christmas I LOVED the juniper latte! It was a perfect blend of sweet, but bitter

I used to work at Starbucks...You can always get a tall in a grande cup if you need extra room. Also, I used to be in the bar area every single shift making drinks, don't ask why. I literally used to get drinks that were Grande 2% milk mocha with one pump chocolate, 1 pump classic, 1 pump vanilla, 1 pump dolce Leche, 150 degrees, no whip, whole milk foam, white chocolate drizzle on top. If the person is nice, it's all good.

I loved the video because I love finding new drinks to try at Starbucks. I am glad the baristas do not feel like it is a hassle to make custom drinks. I need to try the creme brulee latte, nutella frap, and passion tea with milk. My favorite drinks are a misto morning joe or christmas blend with 20% coconut milk and one pump chestnut praline for a large or a 1/2 pump for a medium, iced coffee with a little coconut milk and one pump mocha and 1/2 pump hazelnut, hibiscus tea no sweetener and two splashes of lemonade. After I have drank about a third sometimes I like to fill it up with unsweetened almond coconut milk and it tastes like sorbet. I love black tea with a splash of coconut milk and one pump of vanilla or a half sweet chai latte with coconut milk iced. I need to try a tea lemonade blended.

Nikki - you can get a soy misto! Its half coffee and half soy milk and the soy milk is steamed 😍 I like that option because all the extra soy doesn't make the coffee cold!

In the fall/winter I used to love getting chai lattes, especially since I don't like coffee. I still wanted that kind of ritual I had before, so I've started getting steamed soy milk with cinnamon dolce syrup and it's really good! Part of me is like, why am I paying so much for such a simple thing, but then I realize that I'm really just paying for the experience of having a hot drink that feels cozy and on the go like before, so it checks the same boxes :)

@Nikki order a soy cafe Ole! It's half coffee, half steamed soymilk. Or if you want cold milk you can order a grande in a venti cup and fill the rest with soymilk (or a tall in a grande, etc)

Hi! I am a vegan America globetrotter currently living in Tokyo. In Japan many of the syrups DO contain animal ingredients such as dairy emulsifiers. What about other countries? Does Starbucks USA own/send/make all of the syrups and send them? How can I know which ones are safe? The Japanese don't understand me when I ask, even in Japanese.

I get Starbucks pretty much all the time because they are my go to coffee place but I was told from there mocha and Carmel both have dairy in them so I avoid having it because I am Vegan ?

Soy milk is so so sweet. Makes my latte undrinkable. Even without any syrup. Almond milk is the only one that’s unsweetened.. unfortunately. I always order half sweet everything but their soy milk, matcha powder or just the “binding base” that they put in each Frappuccino is just so sweet. You actually didn’t mention the binding base that’s made of sugar - they add 3 pumps in my Frappuccino, said it won’t blend well otherwise. So technically you can not have unsweetened Frappuccino ever.

I always get my coffee vegan because I can't have dairy. Someone accidentally put dairy instead of almond milk last time though and it was bad news for me for the rest of the day :( So I'm scared to trust it again.

BTW, never go to Panda Express. According to their website, NONE of their food items are vegan.
