Until you get the bags you want. I heard a trick of putting meat or whatever in one of the little produce bags you fill at store then into a ziplock. That way the zip lock stays clean and reusable and you just pitch the liner that was free

I have my freezer organized in about the same way you developed. Three tips I'd like to pass along. 1) purchase plastic bins from your local dollar store. I like ones that have openings on all sides to keep the airflow moving in the freezer. 2) as I cook in bulk but am a single person, I usually end up freezing 3 to 6 single-serving containers (I purchase plastic rectangular freezer containers also from a dollar store) and label the contents with a dry erase marker. The containers stack easily. As for labeling them, this has been a game-changer as I no longer play mystery meals when I grab a container for dinner. The marker easily washes off. And 3) When you pull out a container to thaw, open it up. If you notice a white icy covering on the food, just rinse it off, drain the excess water (also rinse the inside of the lid) then thaw as normal. This rids the food of that "freezer taste".

Well done! I have the same gold ice cubes, btw. FYI, my appliance repair guy told me to get rid of my solid plastic freezer bins and replace them with perforated plastic or wire ones for better air circulation around the food and because it is easier on the freezer motor. My freezer is a much older model, but I thought I'd pass that along. Love your labels.

Love this! I have found using rubber bands around the partially used veggie and fruit bags instead of clips keeps things nice and neat.

I MUST say this-WOW! New to your channel, checked out your website and Instagram! You are certainly one professional and organized young woman!! I am an empty nester. Nearly 70, I have been a frustrated ‘organizer’ most of my adult life. I am in the process of ‘reorganizing’ my home because I believe as you do, less clutter, more organization, less stress! My issue being a retired person on a budget is that it takes time to purchase the things that are essential to organizing. I see that it was also a process for you. It didn’t happen overnight. I have three closets in my townhome. I have one tiny deck shed for outdoor items. I do not have enough cupboard space, no basement or attic. I have been in the slow process of working on this for a couple of years. I would like to finish sometime during the next couple of years. SO excited to follow you, I will be employing your ideas as I go along 💡😊

You can wash and reuse your zip lock bags! I also buy frozen fruit at some times depending of season. I purchase them in a bag with zip lock so I can reuse these too!

You did inspire me! Much of my freezer stuff is loaves of bread, cheese, and vegetables. I can’t do much about the bread, except bag them together. But I did put the cheeses and vegetables in dollar tree bins. Labeled them. Huge help! Love Dollar Tree!

Great organization! We have baskets labelled by what was bought by month so we know what to use up first. Left top bin is a use up bin. Then Jan/Feb basket for meat, etc. It is too full right now, but that is how we try to keep it.

I have been using Ikea white bins for my side by side Freezer for about 4/5 years. Pull a bin out on the counter to find whatever I have in them, it so much easier to organize. Have to get me a circuit label maker. Great video 🙂

A tip for freezing the pesto from Costco, place the unfrozen pesto in ice cube trays and freeze. Then store the frozen cubes in your chosen container, makes it so easy to add to recipe.

4:00 fun fact, unless you’re getting same day off the boat, such as at a physical fishers market, all of the “fresh” fish you buy was frozen. If the fishers don’t know of the fish will be sold that day (and the boat isn’t on a multi-day trip), it gets flash frozen on board. However, buying frozen fish means it was never thawed and refrozen. Neither are healthier than the other, but the thawing can effect the texture, so less rethawing is better texture wise. And it’s typically cheaper

You should ALWAYS write the date you put the item in the freezer!!! That way you can rotate what you have. Label everything!!!

Actually side by side freezers are a hard one to organize no matter how big the fridge is, I always had a hard time organizing it but did go with the bins which helped loads. I’ve since got another fridge and now have the freezer on the bottom which works out great

same here. I have a freezer with 3 medium drawers. Anyway, I'll try to adapt the ideas to mine, despite I never buy sucha huge amount of food, all this food would feed my hubby and me for half a year. I love these videos anyways ;)

I was thinking the same thing! I live in a rental and my freezer sucks! I have one lonely grate-type shelf in it and it is SO hard to arrange things in it. However, I think I will get some bins from Walmart and do this. I think it will help tremendously.

thank you for this video! my new house has one of these side by side fridge/freezer situations, and the freezer side is designed so poorly with so little space. it makes me want to cry whenever i open it. i much preferred the old school stacked fridge/freezer at my rental apartment (the top being the freezer). having said that, since purchasing a new unit is not possible, your video was very helpful to get me out of my mental block of where to even start haha

I sort by expiration by month not by meat so I can eat oldest supply first, I really enjoy your organization yet after kids who has time. I use to organize like you so I appreciate you sharing

I have a top freezer which is horrendous for so many reasons. But I learned very quickly bins was the best way to organize in there. I do not have bins like these but I like them much better as they are clear and straight. Ty.

Appreciate your tips especially sandal rack and storage bins for refrigerator and freezer. I am able as a senior to let go of my self-esteem booster of a different outfit, head to toe, for everyday of the year. So, decluttering my clothes is least of my issues today. Health care and health insurance mail is challenging esp during Pandemic re what to keep of federal, state and county correspondence. I've come to conclusion 7 years like tax receipts/documents is a common sense method to apply. It's good enough 4 me! My other challenge is acrylic fluid paint pouring supplies in a currently very limited space. Minimal supplies include paints in tubes & jars; mediums including gallon cans of glaze & white base paints. I am transitioning to use of powder pigments where I custom mix every fluid including pouring mediums and puddle fluids. My other larger issue is non-traditional items used to pour, drip, slide/move paints on surfaces i.e. spatulas, metal & plastic paint knives, silicone pouring and measuring cups, cups for mixes I create, and my favorite, a silicone bar-b-que brush. LSS: A lot of products esp given very limited space available -- tiny house size. So, I watch your tips for all rooms for ideas. Decanting is a very helpful choice esp when used with stick-on label pouches. Can't wait to try that! BTW: I also am a fan of Costco salmon and other healthy frozen protein and smoothie ingredients products!

We have a full fridge & an upright full freezer. I really like your freezer as it can be more easily configured than ours. Hubby does the shopping & cooking but his organizational skills… well, let's say he hasn’t found those yet. This might really help. Thanks!

If you like frozen grapes as a healthy snack you can freeze a few punnets together in a large plastic container and they'll separate easily whenever you want some. I really enjoy them but usually opt for black grapes as the red and green can sometimes be quite tarte if they're not fully ripe...and here in Ireland most of our fruit and veg is picked and imported long before it's ripened. As an aside I really like your dress, I'm a big fan of gingham 😁.

Bret video, just found you. I have this fridge and I hate it, I alway felt like I was constantly moving this and playing Jinga . Now I finally got the top fridge wide enough and bottom freezer, your system of using the clear is awesome I did that in the fridge and love it. Used masking tape labels because I'm lazy, but loved this video. Huge help. Our freezer is a lot smaller but open boxes are a brilliant idea for most sizes, especially when there are a bunch of smaller packs otherwise running amok in the freezer.

I’d like to know how best to organize a freezer that is one large drawer (I have a French-door type fridge with the freezer drawer on the bottom.) you would have to stack everything which is basically what I do. New subbie here Michigan. Wanna see more tips.....

Always think about "file, don't pile" so for a drawer freezer on the bottom ty to avoid just piling things on top of one another! I have a new drawer freezer in the basement and will be sharing some of how I organize it!

Thank you! So glad you enjoyed! I actually sell the labels on my website at www.sophisticatedorganization.com/shop! Same strategy no mater the style of your freezer, always think about "filing" your food rather than piling it. Bins are great to hold things up vertically like I did so you can have more of that filing system. Hope that helps!

I like to use the big pull out drawer for things like bulky items, a ham, or turkey, a roasting chicken etc. I like to have something like that on hand for big meals, just in case its needed. I can always cook it and divide it up into soups, casseroles, etc. to freeze for later. Not trying to steal any business from you, but I buy freezer labels from Amazon on a roll. Cheap, and easy peasy to peel off.

Thank you. Make sure to leave space for those "miscellaneous" items, that way things don't fall apart when you bring in something new that doesn't perfectly fit into a category. You will see I have some space on the side of several bins and left a shelf empty for just that reason!! So the best advice I have is don't over-categorize!

Hi, i find the bags of fruit, shrimp and other items bulky.I always empty them into freezer bags, suck the air out with a straw 😂 and they stack easier so use less space. Also never keep anything in the box it came in.

With the freezer bags you can just wash them out and reuse them so you're not wasting them.

Greetings from South Dakota. Your bins are a brilliant idea. When I go to Costco I buy ground beef she a pork tenderloin then measure out 1 pound bags of beef frozen flat and cut the loin into chops and roast. It’s exhausting! Your way is so much better.

thank you SO much!! With a large deep freezer be careful of piling things on top of one another, think of it as more of a file cabinet and turn things on their sides if that makes sense!

thank you for this video! I need to better organize my freezer for sure! In my case, I also have a chest freezer, do you have any recommendations on how to better organize it? (Note: I usually have whole chicken, ribs, and food that usually cannot properly fit in a container)

Thanks for watching! Chest freezers are tough especially with odd shaped items. Think of it like a filing cabinet and try to store things vertically rather than stacking them on top of each other!

We had a side fridge and my husband hated it. So we got one with freezer on bottom. But we have a large freezer and a middle side. We buy half a beef, I also buy pork loins, chicken breasts and thighs, bacon etc. I make up smoothies to. I was hoping this was for a lg freezer. But you did great..🇨🇦💕

Ok this video is perfect timing!! We’re currently eating everything in our freezer because it’s so messy and I need to create a better system. Where do you store bread and rolls? Ours are in our freezer but they take up so much space and I don’t like having to thaw them out every time we want some.

Love that this was exactly what you needed! We usually don't keep bread around the house unless we need it for a specific recipe although when I make homemade bread I always double the recipe and freeze some. They can easily be stored on their side of an organizer or inside an organizer of their own. When storing bread, or anything, in the freezer always thing "file don't pile!" so rather than stacking things on top of each other flip them on their side like you would store file folders. Hope that helps!

I bag two slices of bread together, and then slide them all back into the original bread bag and freeze them, that way when I need to make a sandwich I just grab a two-slice package. We don't eat a lot of bread so this system works for me. I do the same with hamburger buns. As for rolls only buy rolls for Thanksgiving, so I never have them in my freezer.

I prep the meat for what it's going to be used for and bag that in the weight it will be used. I debag everything else because it does give more space in the freezers. I keep my stuff in storage boxes in the deep freezer, but i'm less bothered in the upright.
