I understand that people think it’s as easy as „Just stop doing it“ and think that people are selfish for not stopping, but as someone who has been addicted to it for 9 years now, it’s much harder than you think. Your body will make you go insane until you submit. Im ashamed that I ended up like this and I went to this video hoping to get advice how to stop it. None was given but her speech gave me some hope and reading the comment section makes me happy that I’m not the only one.

I don't even know how to respond to this... It's right on the nose on how it works. I almost feel like drug and alcohol addictions are easier because if you don't have the substance around you after you heal, then less of a chance of relapse... it's obviously still hard, don't get me wrong. But like, in the age of the internet, where even Facebook, KZfaq, Twitter, where social media has SOME kind of sexual/porn content... how are people like us supposed to stay away and heal? My brain, and body drive me to give in, where my brain and heart is calling me an idiot... then my brain starts kicking itself for giving in.
@SpecialWeaponsDalek
@SpecialWeaponsDalek Жыл бұрын
@@AxleMyths I feel the exact same way. The only way one can HOPE to get rid of it is shutting down the entire internet but sadly that would have massive consequences for the entire world and secondly it would only delay the inevitable. The horrible truth is, unless the medical community can come up with a miracle cure that will EXTERMINATE EVERY OUNCE OF URGE we cannot win! We cannot! I don‘t see why people in the comment section are trying to give us hope when we all know it’s HOPELESS! And yeah I also agree with the whole drugs thing since it’s your OWN BODY yeah normally I don’t do caps but this is ridiculous!

I understand the challenge. I’m a sober sex addict for nearly 11 years and my sex addiction was severe along with Methemphetamine and alcohol. Sex was my core addiction. It took my arrest and an advisor to finally change my life. Feel free to reach out, I love talking with people who are where I used to be.

Age 28 here. Initially started off viewing porn. Almost 14 years into compulsive porn habit. 5 years ago i started paying for sex. Wasted $25,000. Got nothing out of it. In therapy, working with young kids, been clean 5 months now and im already able to see so many blessings. I saved $8,000, connected with my family on a deeper level, just applied at Cal State East Bay for Masters program in clinical psychology. Remember one thing, when a man has no purpose in life, he'll distract himself with pleasure. I'm 30, still have my job that I love, family, hobbies. I just have to.stay consistent and remind myself of the consequences i faced all these years.

I'm at a younger age, 18, and I was leading to the same dark path bro... It all started from viewing porn when I was like 11, and it has been ups and downs since then... It then went to hooking up and obviously viewing women as an object uncounciously more and more; and then cravings to pay for sex. I still have a lot of work put in my life goals and not everything is lost, but I realized if I didn't stop this madness I would end up throwing it all away and who knows what kind of pervert i'd become later in my life... I'm praying and getting more involved with God so I can get my sanity back, and i've made a lot of progress up until now, and I hope you too do well with your own fight. Stay strong 💪💪❤

@@ve1488 i’m sober from sex addiction 11 years now at 52 years old, and after 30 years wrapped in the grip and the horrors of sexual behavior that literally brought me to a humiliating demise. I’m so grateful to have discovered a new way of living a new design of thinking, and have gained a peaceful, serene life today successful and grateful to be where I’m at, but it took losing absolutely everything to a very humiliating embarrassing demise doing things I never imagined I would do a sex addiction along with methamphetamine addiction that fed the sex addiction. But I am nearly 11 years sober from drugs, alcohol and sex addiction and I am a grateful person today. I see so many millions of Americans, struggling to find their way out of sex addiction into a healthy, thriving individual and the challenge and difficulty to do that is certainly before the sex addicts. Abuse was the only positive physical and emotional touch I experienced. Now I m 40 n very much successful in my life. Still undermines myself. Trying very hard to break this addiction. Who ever reads this, God loves you and I hope he frees anyone who is struggling with pornography. Friend, Jesus loves you. I have a habit to beat myself up (not literally) when I look at images that I shouldn’t. The reason why I say that is cause the feeling is very sad and it makes me very upset. I don’t want you guys to be upset or mad at yourself for sinning. We were all born into sin. If you sin, its normal to feel a bit of sadness cause sin is not good. We certainly shouldn’t feel proud of ourselves. I too get discouraged and upset when I sin, but I pray and ask God to pick me up from the ashes and dust, Brush my shoulders off with all that gunk, and try again and again and again. When you do sin, don’t think “IM A FAILURE! WHY DO I KEEP DOING THIS?! IM NEVER GONNA BE FREE OF THIS SIN!!” My brothers, my sisters, that is a big fat lie from the enemy. Jesus can and WILL save you from your deepest and darkest struggles! We are all in this together and we all struggle with sexual sin. Know that the Lord Jesus Christ DIED for your sins. His blood was shed for us sinners when it should have been us on that cross. He took all our shame, all our sins, ALL OUR TRANSGRESSION onto himself. Jesus will free you. Matthew 26:41 “The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” I care for whoever reads this. I love you, and so does God. We must constantly pray so God can protect our minds from the attacks of the enemy. Jesus thinks of you as many grains of sand there is in the beach, and as many strands of hair that is in your hair! (Idk if I said that right 🤣😂😅) God bless who ever reads this. A thousand hugs 🫂 🤗

I’ll look into it, thanks for sharing. With me it’s totally connected to my extremely strange dysfunctional childhood where I wasn’t listened too and I was emotionally hurt by girls and women. Pornography served a purpose in the beginning because the images in the magazine didn’t talk back to me and didn’t put me down. As the years went by the comforting mechanism became an addiction very much like a major drug. I battle with this demon every day of my life. It’s very psychological with me. I hate myself after acting out. I feel sick to my stomach.

This is unfair what did we do to deserve this, why us, why? Why are we to be called monsters over something we never wanted, why are we to be compared to people locked behind bars, why are we to be ignored when we try to get help, why have we been punished to face this addiction. We tried taking matters in to our own hands because no one will listen to us, to no avail. How can people be so ignorant of something so common! I opened up about it to family (took 2 attempts because I didn’t make myself very clear the first time) and I visited a doctor yes I am commenting a second time yes I am bothering telling you guys this because no one else will listen I nearly had a mental breakdown few hours ago and I refuse to continue living life like this. @@SpecialWeaponsDalek 10 yr problem and only 2 weeks into recovery. it is not easy. these are the hardest and strongest feelings ive ever experienced. i slowly started disconnecting from my partner a couple of months ago, really fixating on her body and started subconsciously comparing her constantly. and in the many years we've been together, this was the first time i've felt this. it took me a while before i realized what the problem truly was. always thought whenever i got an urge i was doing her a service by not cheating, but in fact i was causing further damage. i know that i have to buckle down for these 6 months for my dopamine levels to balance out but i am willing to do whatever it takes to be happy everyday again. and more importantly enjoy time with her again. looks fade over time so you really only stay with that person's mindset, which i realized is more important. everyone has a chance to be happy again. dont be scared to open up. blessings 🕉️

@@thebouc Ouch. Sad thing is I can’t go 2 weeks without it. Best I can do is almost 2 weeks, sometimes it‘s a couple of days. I know my doctor says he doesn’t want to prescribe me medication just yet but I honestly hope the therapist will give me some form of medication, because I know I don’t have the willpower to stand up to it and it’s only going to get worse from here. The only way I can hope to get rid of it is medication. Honestly parents should monitor what their children do and discipline them when necessary to prevent them from becoming, well, the way we sadly ended up. But that’s just me trying to blame something else for the way I am even though it is utterly my fault. Good on you for being brave enough to have a relationship. Really, I can’t dare start one because I know how it will end so what’s the point in even trying.
@matthewsimms4053

I would recommend not just waiting on the therapist as there is significant recovery steps you can take by yourself. Have you gone Sex Addics Anonymous meeting (SAA)? There you can find likeminded individuals who you can open up to who will understand your struggles. They do either in person or zoom calls these days. I've even gotten help for sex addiction by going to alcoholics Anonymous meetings even though I'm not an alcoholic. Basically what I'm getting at is this, addiction is isolation or at least best thrives in it. Out of all the stories of addiction I've ever heard, isolating always seems to be a common denominator. And out of all the success stories I've heard, finding a community or group of people you can open up with seems to be the common denominator of success. Kudos to you for reaching out online but you need some face to face contact and real relationships with other men to insure success. Lastly, a few tips to help communication with yourself as communicating for me starts with opening up to myself as well as others. Get in a routine of things like Journaling (you can keep a private journal or a shared journal with your partner to read and respond to your posts. I find it easier to say somethings on paper that I couldn't in person), voice recordings of your own thoughts, reading sex addiction literature (try out of shadows by Patrick Carnes to start with), and commenting on reddit posts and sex addiction videos. Build a routine that works for you and that you don't hate. When, not if, you fail again, ask why this happened and re-strengthen your recovery plan. All the progress you make DOES NOT go away because you gave in binged on porn for a night. And lastly (for real this time) remember that there are two aspects to recovering from addiction: physical cravings and emotional cravings. You must deal with both or you will go back to this behavior. Use things the covenant eyes, an internet program that blocks explicit material on your computer and phone, to physical separate yourself long enough for the physical symptoms to go away. Also consider leaving your phone off of you during tempting times such as during bedtime and use you devices in public areas if you need to go that far. Find a safe place that you know you won't watch porn such as an SAA meeting or a Starbucks as this gives your willpower a chance to relax from the constant stress. For emotional cravings, you need to replace what your addiction does for you mentally with something else. For me, pornography got me out of bed, entertained me when I was bored, was a reward when I was succeeded, and a pick me up when I was down. Even if my physical cravings are gone, I am simply unfulfilled in life and will want to back to porn if I do not deal with these emotions. This is where all the communicating and building relationships come together to replace and actually heal what the addiction was covering up and this leads to lastly long term sobriety. Hopefully, some of the points you in the right direction.

Ok, here's the problem: After marriage, my amazingly beautiful (like, WTF is she doing with a weirdo like me?) and wonderful wife who I love and cherish more than anything I've ever loved before... realized she was demisexual roughly the same time she taught me I'm a hedonistic pansexual. So she is 100% into me but wants copious amounts of "vanilla" sex. (her term, not mine. I feel like "vanilla" is derogatory.) Our sexualities have wildly diverged in 180 degree opposite directions, but I feel like I'm the damaged one who needs repaired. She completes me in every other aspect of life. Help? Y’all are different. Most people don’t engage in all these labels and the majority of relationships I’ve seen where 2 lesbians are involved one has a clear masculine role, and the other a clearly defined feminine role. In your circumstance- you’re basically gender bending roles because neither of you know what you want. It hinges on how you feel and that’s not good for long term relationships. If intimacy can’t be a common ground than it won’t work. Also sounds like you’re buying her prescriptions for your sexuality hook-line-and-sinker. Y’all are both unhealthy as fuck. Break-up. Go to therapy. Nobody else here will tell you this.

Addiction is addiction love, once you start seeing it as as bad as drugs you’ll glorify it less subconsciously. Your’ saying that is a lie you made up to feel less bad about doing it. If u have it I hope u overcome I believe in you

It doesn't. You addicted to sex but it ruined sex for you, you can't even orgasm anymore and any orgasm you may feel will be overwhelmed with shame. You will constantly be looking for sex even when your genital can't handle it. It sucks because you can't even focus on anything and sex fantasies just cloud your mind.

Hi, my name is Rob, I am 52 years old and after 30 years suffering from the horrific grip of sex addiction, I am nearly 11 years sober from sexual behavior. I was also addicted to methamphetamine an alcohol, which fed my sex addiction. I was severely addicted to Sexting, cyber sex, pornography, and anonymous sex. I lived years in secrecy, feeling dirty, ashamed, anything guilty. But it was the masks of confidence I wore a mask, depending on where I was who I was hanging out with, and there was so many masks. I forgot who I was. But that is over 11 years ago until I finally hit a humiliating, embarrassing terrible devastating demise. But through a spiritual mentor and an entirely new design, I have discovered a place in life where I am peaceful, successful, serene, happy and free from sex addiction. Feel free to reach out. If you have any questions, we would like to chat.
